Set the alarm for 11:59 last night, and ordered an 8 256GB. Sorta wish they had an intermediate model at 128 GB, as I have 80 GB of music that I keep on my 128/7 (not really interested in streaming). I'm on the Apple upgrade plan, so it's just 4 bucks more a month. I do like the upgrades from the 7 (although somewhat modest), and the plus models are just too big for me, although I would love the dual cameras. As it happens, I could have just waited until morning, but how is one to know that? Was only up for 10 minutes total. I do realize that I don't really own the device until it's paid off, but it's a no interest loan, so what's the difference. I can pay it off whenever I feel like it.

Was considering the X, but in the end, I determined that the 8 will do me just fine. I think I'll love the all glass design (similar to my beloved iPhone 4).

Anyhow, just my choice.

The shipping times aren't slipping because the world has come to the same conclusion I did on Tuesday.

Apple is, stone cold, completely out of ideas.

Furthermore, they are playing catchup with Samsung and other competitors. Tim Cook should spend less time lobbying and griping about immigration policy and more time making electronics.

Face ID was an accident and a band-aid, at best. They couldn't get touch ID beneath the display like they wanted to, so they came up with this garbage... packaged it up and put a bow on it with a cool name to commemorate the iPhone's anniversary. Steve Jobs would never in a million years allow something half-baked like this to be released on a flagship product. That's one of the many differences between Jobs and Cook. Cook and Ive should be ashamed of themselves.

How long have Samsung phones had wireless charging? How long have Samsung phones been waterproof? How long ago did Samsung release their first edge to edge display?

And they want me to pay $199 for a new Apple TV that displays 4K content? I'll stick with my Amazon Fire TV ... which has had 4K for how long now?

The honeymoon is over. Apple is the modern day Xerox.. (I could have said myspace but I didn't). And it pains me to say this. I love Apple. I have all of their s**t. I literally have one of everything... even a Mac Pro.

Sorry guys, I know this hurts. Stop buying their crap. Force them to reinvent themselves, just like they forced the electronics industry into developing better music players, phones, computers and wearables.

Pretty bitter, are we? Take a pill and relax

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, Apple TV 4K, and Apple Watch Series 3 models became available for pre-order at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time today, and many of the new products remain available for launch day delivery over five hours later.

iphone-8-apple-watch-series-3-apple-tv-4k.jpg

iPhone 8 is slated for September 22 delivery in every color and storage size on Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint, for example, while only a few T-Mobile and SIM-free configurations have slipped to up to 3-4 week shipping estimates.

iPhone 8 Plus supplies are slightly more constrained, but even the larger smartphone remains estimated for September 22 delivery in several colors and storage sizes on Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint.

Supplies may vary by model, but based on shipping estimates, demand may be skewing towards T-Mobile or SIM-free models in Space Gray or Gold. Silver and Sprint appear to be least the popular color and carrier respectively at this point.

Quite a few models remain available for launch day delivery in other countries too, such as Australia, Canada, Spain, and Singapore.

Back in the United States, customers can still order an Apple TV 4K with 32GB storage with September 22 delivery. The 64GB model has slipped to a 2-3 week shipping estimate on Apple.com.

Apple Watch Series 3 is the most constrained new product of all. Shipping estimates for many case and band combinations with GPS + Cellular have slipped to up to 4-5 weeks in the United States and elsewhere. Quite a few Wi-Fi and GPS only versions, including some Nike+ models, remain available for launch day delivery.

iPhone X pre-orders begin Friday, October 27.

My Apple Watch is already saying preparing for Shipping... yay not processing anymore

But but but.... everyone on MR says they're overpriced and don't offer enough to make it worth buying. I'm sure they won't bother buying since they suck so bad.

No. The 12 people who want one will buy the 12 available units and Apple will claim a huge success. ;)

AMEN! Too many on this forum are ignorantly blind to Apple’s cr*p and buying their products is only proving to Apple that they can continue on this path of low value for money and sky high prices. I really wish people were a little more savvy with their cash and stop forgiving Apple for everything all of the time. Apple do still make a couple of great products that are worth the cash: Apple Watch, AirPods. But these new iPhones are nothing more than a money grab. Do these people realise that the X is a half baked product, and that the 8 is almost completely identical to the 7? By buying the X, you are allowing Apple to believe £1000 is an acceptable price for a smart phone. You watch them make the base model next year £1000, because you told them that was okay.

Apple is not the same company Steve Jobs nurtured. Tim is in it for the profits, regardless of the products. The execs use the company as their personal piggy bank, making them all fat with wealth without having to lift a finger. They probably sit back and laugh as the orders roll in, sipping champagne on a Jony Ive designed yacht. Laughing about how gullible people could be to allow them to continue getting away with all this. Apple’s bubble is bursting.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Steve Jobs would be ashamed of the current state of Apple.

Call it whatever you want, bitter is fine. A great company with tons of potential has lost its creativity. A company that spurred so many others toward innovation has lost its edge. A company I truly admire.

Keep spending bro.

I tend to believe people who simply call Apple critics “haters” and “bitter” to be of lower intelligence, purely because of the way they waste the most valuable commodity they have - money. Also for being so easily lead on. You’ll find plenty of them around these parts.

I just ordered a very thin black leather case for the Iphone X. So I guess I have to order the phone on Oct 27!!

Bad assessment, as I thought the new LTE Apple Watch and iPhone 8X are great! Will be getting both. Will also be getting the new ATV4 once I get a 4K tv too :). Apple has not let me down and most everyone I know feels the same way. I think the iPhone 8X is going to have massive orders. Just hope I can get one quickly.

So, you're solution is to call everyone who disagrees with you Stupid? You must be a real hit at parties.

That’s easy: I don’t go to parties.

That's because no one invites you.. you killjoy! LOL

I just love these Apple quarterbacks that always predict Apple's doom and how they aren't cutting it anymore. Steve is turning over in his grave and would be embarrassed. All the while Apple is making record sales and have what now 200 billion in cash reserved funds.

Bottom line is if Apple isn't cutting it for you, no one is forcing you to stay... haul it on over to the competition. We'll leave the light on and see you when you get back!

It been fun watching those try to rationalize and justify that they need the iPhone X because the iPhone 8 or 8+ well they are an old design and have suddenly just grown so ugly.. Then there are those with the 7 or 7+ and the 8 is just a slight bump, so they are wrecked... the X is too much and 8 is not enough.

Personally I've got an iPhone 6+ and I am getting the iPhone 8+. I could afford the X, but I am not interested in the Face ID and the bezels on the terrible horrible rotten OLD worn out since 2014 design just doesn't bother me. LOL

Hopefully you guys will figure out what you want to do without becoming to scared over Apple's design decisions even if that means going to the competition. Okay... I am being sarcastic guys!

Hope you won't regret it. I did the exact same thing when 6s was released and absolutely hated the white front. It is distracting when consuming media, especially video. I think you'll still get your black one when you order it now. You should probably even consider just ordering the black one without cancelling silver.

WHITE FRONT!!! I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT. OH WELL, I'LL PROBABLY ONLY HAVE IT FOR ANOTHER THREE YEARS...

But, I put a case on everything, and we'll see... I remember when I got that 6+. People were lined up for a block in Chicago, and I ordered TWO online, and was afraid of my luck running out, which it did, I tried for a third, DENIED.

But a slunk into the Miracle Mile Apple Store and picked up the two iPhones, and beat feet it out of there. Thought someone was following me too, but yeah, I'll probably have this one for another three years.
But a white face... Damn...

I'm never invited to the good parties either. I guess no one wants to see me naked...

Huge benefit for you going from a 6 to even a regular 8 if you are a photo junkie in particular.

- 3 generation newer cpu/gpu (faster!)
- more storage (bigger!)
- HEIF (better quality, better compression)
- hardware OIS (better!)
- better flash with slow sync (in a pinch)
- double system memory (2GB vs 1GB) = better overall performance

Agreed with everything! I am not going to enjoy the + size, but hey, at least my hands are a larger than average. Besides, I have a 16 GB iphone 6 (a combination of unfortunate events led to that!). 64 GB I am sure will be enough for most of my needs. I take a lot of photographs, but don't keep hoarding them on the phone for perpetuity. They get cataloged pretty regularly.

Well, Apples amazing magical keynote on Tuesday was inspiring. It inspired me to buy a Note 8 on Friday. Had this been several years ago, I would have rushed to preorder an iPhone but to me, Apple has truly lost the magic that they had up until the 5S. I do own a 6S/6S+ and a SE still and I feel nothing Apple has done since has warranted me buying anything to replace these phones.

I have three lines on T-Mobile so I am using the second on my S8+ and the third on my S7 Edge.

very smooth when the (HUGE) day 1 demand is not there...
[doublepost=1505487881][/doublepost]Anyone feel the X is almost like ipad 1 or apple watch (1st Gen?)

TOP product and groundbreaking - but not quite the smooth and finished article. Next year's flagship will sort out any face id issues and maybe lose the notch
It's too early for the "notch" to die down, give it a few a years...
