Stabbed? I'm surprised you werent shot. Car jacked, and left for dead.

In all honesty though, with all the bad press, i cant understand anyone attempting to rely on Apple Maps at this stage in its life. I have the free Sat Nav 2 application on my iPhone, which uses Open Street Map and apart from the odd occasion, does a decent job at navigation.

I like Waze....social mapping FTW! I love the police alerts on the way into work. :D

I'm going to return my new iphone and buy a Samsung S3. Maps today led me into St Anns (A rough estate in Nottingham UK) where I nearly got stabbed. Apple need to sort this new software. Gonna get someone killed. Can I get compensation for this? Someone will.

Apple are really going downhill. Big shame. Ah well theyve lost a customer. Anyone want a new iphone 5 white 16gb, £600?

I think you are a little dramatic. At least u could have waited on Google's maps app to come to the App Store.

Especially seeing the OP just joined today, to make this post. Most likely a Samsung fan-boy stirring the pot.

If you knew it was a 43 mile 'detour' why did you carry on, did you not look at the route and think, hey it's going through St. Ann's. Fudge that!

Tip, when using any GPS check the route it wants you to take so you can ignore parts or choose a different route.

Count yourself lucky it didn't route you through Hyson Green instead. The cheap local hoe-bags would be all over you like flies on ***** if they saw you lost with a brand spanking new iP5 in hand.

Definitely a troll, at any rate. Just check out his first thread lol:

Wait, did you just take that statistics bit seriously?

All jokes aside, my first post ^ was to prove a point whilst utilising a sense of humour...

This thread is on a more serious note however. I agree, I probably shouldn't have relied on Apple maps, but I'd grown to rely on Google maps, so didn't expect the new software to be two steps back. That and other issues, I frankly feel I've been let down by Apple for the price we pay, so will be looking into other phones. Please don't let my choice as a consumer affect you. If you like the new iphone, enjoy it by all means. Cheers.
