How is everyone doing under these unusual circumstances? Keeping active?

All my races in March and April have been canceled, of course: a 5K this Saturday, a half marathon on my birthday in 11 days, and the Boston Marathon in 5 weeks. And I'm working at home, which means less activity otherwise. But at the moment, I'm sticking to my training schedule. Races will eventually resume--hopefully by June--and I want to be ready when they are.

I did optimistically sign up for the California International Marathon in December. And I am registered for marathons in North Carolina in July and North Dakota in late September.

I'm doing ok, but not sure I'll make this goal. I'm 20809 cal into my goal of 40700.
I need to average 1326 for the rest of the month. It will be a stretch with the rain on its way.

I am 17 days into doubling my move goal 31 times, should be no problem barring illness ... and so glad that I have my own spin bike at home ...

I’m taking my dogs on very long walks to compensate. They aren’t complaining!

I am sticking to my schedule and also completing my challenge goals. I am usually doing strength training twice a week, which is not possible at the moment, since all of the studios have shut down here (I am located in Germany). But since I am doing own body weight training as well, I have intensified that as a replacement.

Yesterday night I have come down with cold symptoms, which cannot necessarily be distinguished from COVID-19. Since I am a health care professional and necessarily had contact with many patients, I am now stranded at home and awaiting test results. Since symptoms have been comparatively mild so far, I can at least still close my rings with little effort.
Strange times. I will keep you posted how things turn out.

Keep well everyone out there!

As of last night, March 16, I am halfway to my challenge goal of doubling my move goal 18 times. And I’m gonna have to step it up as I had three days in the last half of the month that would have been “gimme’s”, but due to the cancellation of our state high school basketball tournament here in Alaska, that’s three days less of “paid exercise” that I will have to figger out how to fill in my own. Which simply means more elliptical.

I have 10 days left for completing my exercise ring 26 times. Glad to have a easy AW challenge.

Starting tomorrow, I will be running twice a day (6 days a week). Will be interesting to see what Apple comes up with next month.

I step up a little bit and from 8.8 km a day (for the rest of a month) it now is 7.7 km. I really would like to end this challenge few days before end of the month. Thanks God we have really nice weather here in Poland, because like in any other country all gyms and places like that are closed (no one rally knows how long it will take).

Boom.

My 'challenge' is to close all 3 rings everyday of the month.

The 5k I planned for on March 27th is gone 'virtual.' Basically you submit your run times to their website. If you use a screenshot of a tracker (Apple Watch/Garmin), they will count those times for placement/prizes in the actual race.

They have already marked out the course, so you can actually run the exact course.

I haven't paid the entry fee, so not sure how that will work. Not paying $30 for a 'virtual' race.

I wouldn't either. My 5K last Saturday went virtual too. I didn't bother submitting a time. The entry fee goes to the Heart Association, so I'm just chalking it up to a charitable contribution.

I'm still trying to decide what to do to celebrate my 50th birthday this Saturday without a half marathon. I don't really feel like a solo half marathon time trial.

I hadn't signed up but the money goes to Albany Rowing Center, which is a local 'business' that may not survive the economic hit. $20 for the virtual race; shirt included if desired.

Perhaps a very dumb question, but is it possible to see the monthly challenge on the iPhone or only on the watch?
