Mariah Carey has been interviewed by Oprah Winfrey for Apple TV+ show "The Oprah Conversation," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The virtual interview takes a look at Carey's new memoir, "The Meaning of Mariah Carey." Although Winfrey has interviewed Carey several times previously, this new interview is said to be a more intimate discussion with personal anecdotes.

Previous episodes of the Oprah Conversation have interviewed Emmanuel Acho, host of "Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man," Professor Ibram X. Kendi, author of "How to Be an Antiracist," and Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative.

Carey is also working on a Christmas special for Apple TV+, titled "Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special."

The Christmas special will feature Mariah Carey and a "star-studded lineup of surprise guest appearances" offering a "magical holiday journey to enliven the Christmas spirit around the world." It will combine music, dancing, and animation, driven by a "universally heartwarming story."

The episode of The Oprah Conversation featuring Mariah Carey debuts tomorrow on Apple TV+.

Like I said (and got harassed for) she's going to have celebrities as guests and talk to them and get their opinions or talk about their lives.

No one cares.

p.s. Please understand, this isn't to say that Apple shouldn't make this show. Or that she will NEVER have guests of substance, or that I don't like Mariah, or that I hate Oprah, or that I'm a right-wing conservative, or that I'm a Bible thumping evangelical, or that I'm a homophobe, or that I'm a racist or that I'm a .....................

She’s an interesting artiste and we need to understand she makes really great music. There is no need to be negative about her. Mariah has been in the music business for more than 30 years with a long string of number 1’s. I can tell you, along with Michael Jackson, Celine Dion her music is gonna be playing for many decades. You can’t say the same about Bieber and Cardi B WAP. Give Mariah her due respect.

Why all the hate? If you don't like her then don't watch but to say that "nobody cares" or "nobody will watch this" is ignorant. Those that like and appreciate her work like me will watch, those that aren't into her type of music won't.

Each to their own and all that but to come and post asinine comments is childish.

So nice to see these two together. Both women of incredibly high talent and calibre in their respective fields; I’m sure it’ll make for an interesting watch, especially as Mariah focuses more and more on her human aspects (i.e. needing less to “moderate” herself as a celebrity, now that she’s put the decades of work in to establish herself). As I watch this and her Christmas special, I will keep extra love in my heart for all the people who genuinely feel a need to comment on this just to let everyone know how bored they are by it/how much they dislike these women for literally no reason besides perceived overexposure (which, really, is mostly these women giving people who usually don’t have space in mass media room to feel like they actually exist, myself included). 🥰

Love Oprah...hate Mariah. Should I watch? I think I'll wait until someone of interest to me is interviewed. It's a good option on the Apple TV+ for some though.

If ten years ago someone had told me Mariah Carey on an Oprah show would have made this site's front page I would have laughed in their face. Well, who's laughing now?!

To be clear: I love MacRumors - the staff did a kickass job on iOS 14 - but this is hardly the kind of news that keeps me coming back :D

Yep! While I agree this isn’t necessarily front page MacRumors news, it doesn’t make sense as to why people are so upset. I have some ideas... 💅

And this is news? Is everything Apple has on their tv platform gonna be news. Both these people are irrelevant to 99% of the population.

I never liked Carey. She seems so fake. But saying 99% of the population doesn’t care about her or Oprah is ridiculous. I won’t be surprised at all if her book tops The NY Times list.

Hold on, are you truly suggesting that Oprah has no voice in the mess media universe?
Not at all, that’s my exact point…same with Mariah. They’re both incredibly powerful figures whom a lot of people look up to, and at the same time, they’ve carved out spaces for people who didn’t feel like they had room before. That’s been my experience over the course of my life, at least—and it’s the same with a lot of people I’m close to. Forgive me if the message didn’t come off properly!

I think it's because there are many people who are not able to feel good about themselves, or where they are in life, without putting down or ridiculing another human being, often one who happens to be successful. Here, it seems to be a race to the bottom often laced with clever juvenile snark. Sadly, that little blip of "feel good" superiority is short-lived, with more put-downs needed to get through the day and week.

My Apple Watch just sent me a notification, “Make it happen”. I read it with Mariah’s voice in my head, “make it hapeeeeeeen” lol
Oh, the old days when she was still making decent music haha

Nah Oprah is just a self hating person who hates black men and puts them down at every opportunity she gets
She ain't malarkey
