Right- you're proudly announcing you ignore the law to save money... so why not just shoplift and steal stuff directly and cut out the middle man?

Your halfway stance doesn't make much sense.

Yep, great logic.

If you drive a mile over the speed limit, make sure you drive yourself straight to the police!

Yeah, Having NH right down the road is nice, but honestly I don't mind giving the state/country a few dollars, I know they need it to pay the soldiers...

Just an FYI, soldiers are paid from the federal tax dollars. Sales tax is a state and local issue. It's used to pave local roads, run the local jail, pay the police officers, teachers, etc.

Five states have opted not to have a sales tax at all. AK, MT, OR, NH and DE. They fund these thing with property taxes and state income taxes. Except for AK and NH which also do not have a state income tax. FL, NV, SD, TX, WA, WY and TN also do not have State income tax. *note* for correctness NH and TN do have income tax on investments and dividend.

Useless trivia information from SD. You should pick your retirement state carefully.

I realize, I pay my state and federal taxes too, I was just making a joke at the OP's paycheck being funded by tax dollars. Tax is tax, it is important regardless how it is used.

"screw Amazon....I'd rather waste time in traffic and in the store, not to mention the gas just to find out that bestbuy doesn't have it and pay the same exact sales tax if they do.....that'll show amazon"

Solid logic OP.

Once again you seem to miss the point.

I'm not the one claiming it's ok to only speed a little...that's your argument.

If I choose to speed I don't pretend it's ok as long as I only speed "a little"... if I make that choice then speeding 1 over or 10 over is equally a crime and I don't pretend one is "ok" and the other isn't... but that's what you're doing.

You've already admitted you care more about saving money than obeying the law... so you might as well just steal things- that saves you even MORE money after all.

Pretending there's any sort of moral difference is you just trying to justify your criminal cheapness.

Either one is ok with breaking the law to save money or they aren't.

You admit you are ok with it.

So why not go all the way?

If you want some headphones, and are ok breaking the law to get them cheaper, you might as well just go to the store and slip em in your pocket, right? That saves you even more money after all.

Heck, it even carries less of a fine than tax evasion does, so it's arguably a lesser crime!

its not a big deal you will get over it, it will suck in the beginning but what can you do right? something happened to us here in NY a few years ago you will get used to it.

Let's be honest...this thread should be locked.

NOBODY in this thread is paying sales tax on purchases they made online but the retailer did not collect sales tax. Nobody in this thread is paying sales tax to their state when they bought a bottle of soda in Delaware. Get over it. It is reality. The Comptroller of Maryland has openly said it would cost the state significantly more to collect sales tax in some of these situations than the revenue they would gain by collecting it. Peter Franchot isn't coming after people because they owe an extra hundred bucks in sales tax for the year. You are making an issue out of nothing.
