The episode titled The Fight, after that I think I know enough about Bill Master's relationship with his Dad. ;) I am all for character development, but this was on the long side along with hotel rendezvous. However in the last episode from 8/3, the story is starting to move again.

Libby is getting a raw deal in this story. She's such a nice and attractive character to be ignored by her husband the way she is. Of course I know I'm being manipulated. ;)

Here's the real couple:

I'm enjoying the show, but I also find myself thinking about "audience manipulation" and wondering how much is truth vs. how much is storytelling. I've not read the biography that the show is based on so I'm only getting the TV version of the story.

It appears like someone did research on the couple and their life's work, maybe even some on their relationship, although the personal stuff could easily be all fictional.

The season finale was good. It's sometimes hard to watch historical shows like this because you know "how it ends". The challenge comes in wondering how they are going to get there.

While I'm halfway through season 2, the pacing of this season is a bit surprising. Every 2-3 episodes the study is taking place in a different location and frankly feels like a different season with the locale change. Maybe I'm wrong as I don't want to be spoiled by the real biography of Mastets & Johnson, but it feels like they've been covering a lot of story this season with as little filler as possible and may be progressing quite quickly through some of the earlier years of the study. I commend them on that but I do have to wonder how long they can go with such drastic changes to the show every few episodes. They're just lucky that they have Showtime's budget to build all the eccentric sets this season .
