Does anyone know whether this series will be made available in DVD?
Don’t know about a DVD, but the series will remain on ATV+ for some time. Original show “Morning Show” is still available as are several other shows. I don’t see the incentive, because DVD would basically compete with ATV.

Thanks for your reply.

I rarely - as in almost never - watch TV, and I don't subscribe to ATV+, and have no intention of subscribing to ATV+ (or any of its siblings or kin, for that matter).

However, BOB is available on DVD, and, in my experience, (in the past, certainly), many such series were made available on DVD several months after the series in question had been broadcast.

FYI: Sometimes when you buy a new  Product or Service you may find a trial offer of tv+ comes with it 😎.

I don’t k ow for sure if this will or won’t get a release on DVD but the days of that are very quickly coming to and end.
The market for physical is rightly or wrongly diminishing every year.

Some of us still (far) prefer it, and deeply dislike (if not utterly loathe) the rentier model of consumption for entertainment.

Too bad for you. No Apple TV+ series has ever appeared on DVD. Your loss.

Not really.

To be perfectly candid, I can live without it, and I don't subscribe to any (streamed) channel; for that matter, I rarely watch TV, as I don't actually have a TV.

In any case, I asked about this (topic) here, as I simply wished to enquire whether it might be available in this format, and confess to some surprise at the tone of some of the responses to my question.

I enjoyed the series, it is certainly well made. Although I must admit I do find many CGI effects in modern movies rather fake. A bit like going to the theatre and seeing the painted scenery of the play. Happily I know that this will only improve. Anyway this show certainly brings out the horrors the aircrews faced during their bombing raids. Respect to all those heroes who took part.

I just finished the series, and overall really enjoyed it. I would rank it above the Pacific but below Band of Brothers.

Unlike the Pacific, MotA really gave the main characters room to breath and develop where I felt a connection to them. This was great.

The only downside I think is that the series didn't really leave me with thinking that their war was all that bad.
Only one main character that was given development time perished (Biddick). Everyone else that died was a side character or an anonymous body in another plane. And even when there was a death, rarely did they have to confront the grisliness of it head on because most often the death was instant. I didn't really feel the dread of death as I did in BoB. And overall it looked like they had a great time - boozing and partying often, several leaves, lots of fun toys at their disposal, women nearby. They slept comfortably, they ate well, they wore clean and comfortable clothes, they had medical services on the base. It almost seemed like a summer camp except every few days a % of them would leave and "not come back." Even as POWs, they were shown to be treated pretty well - nobody was shown to be starving or tortured in the camps. They showed some death and beatings, but it was sort as an aside and never affected the main characters directly.
Indeed, the show made war look pretty glamorous. I didn't like this kind of portrayal.

Started watching this and life got in the way; ended it the other day

Enjoyed it; but it's no where near the level that BoB was and IMO not as good as The Pacific either; felt the actors didn't suit their parts/Austin Butlers character acting was hollow IMO; just no feel

I've got BoB and The Pacific on iTunes; I wouldn't add MotA if it came available

Yeah, I enjoyed him as Elvis, but I'm not seeing it yet in other roles so far

Versatility and truly and convincingly sinking into very different roles will need to be proven still with him I think

I watched this as it was released but just now noticed this thread existed. I found the series ok-ish, with episode 6 being the peak. Unfortunately, it felt downhill from there. I think the issue with this mini-series was that it would instantly be compared to Band of Brothers, and common consensus seems to be that nothing can top it.
