Good experience:
I met my wife on an internet dating site. We would never have crossed paths otherwise. I proposed after 6 months of dating.

Our 4 year anniversary is next week. :D

Clearly, I am a proponent of (at least trying) internet dating.

Ooo, an update:

Still awesomely married and have a 14 month old son.:D

I didn't have much luck with it. My friends told me I shouldn't have put serial killing under Hobbies, but I wouldn't date a girl I could not be completely honest with. Honesty is the foundation of a relationship.

I gave it a shot a few years back and found that all too often the women on there had very high opinions of themselves. You could spend ages writing a nice intro email, asking about them, etc, only for it to get ignored. Funnily enough, I had a look on there about 18 months to two years later and a lot of the same women were still using it. Says a lot about how choosy some of them are if they can't meet somebody decent in that time, especially as there's about 3x as many men on there than women.

I gave up using it, since every time I paid my subscription, I ended up dating somebody I'd met in real life and it was turning into a waste of money on several counts.
