Having the exact same issue on a 2013 iMac with Fusion Drive. The computer will freeze up every now and then. The mouse and keyboard are unresponsive and audio will stop playing through (USB), but activities on the Mac such as playing a video will continue. If I press the power button, it brings up the sleep / restart / shutdown window. Never seen anything like it. I have tried a clean install without any data migration to check and it still is happening.

Rather than start a new thread, I found this one.

I upgrade from Lion to Mavericks on both my rMBP and iMAC and my iMAC freezes\hangs\crashes overtime i boot from shutdown or resume from sleep.

The system only responds to the power button during this time but does seem to resolve itself after a long moment. (I'm not very patient) This is driving me nuts as my rMBP is fine.

any idea's?

I upgraded from ML to Mavericks last night on my 2012 MBA. It worked fine at first then today the whole computer froze. I was not able to get past the gray restart screen (before you get to login). I rebooted several times and it still froze. Took to Genius Bar and they said computer hardware was fine. I tried to do a clean Mavericks install and it froze. I restored my MBA back to Mountain Lion and am now using it. I won't be upgrading to Mavericks for awhile until they get all the bugs worked out. I wasted the whole day on this.

Having the same issue on a new 2013 rMBP, quite annoying.

What's interesting is that my MBA had no freezes whatsoever. Only my rMBP. It must be a driver issue.
I thought it was flash, but I am not sure anymore. The last freeze was on the first Mavericks release day. I connected a Thunderbolt external drive to my MBP and it froze. Had to shut the laptop down and start it again. All other freezes were in Safari when scrolling. The system will just freeze and keyboard and mouse don't work anymore.
I reseted the NVRAM but that didn't help either.

Yeah, the haswell air has been solid, so far only input lockups while using safari

Has anyone manage to find a workaround for the above issues?

Macbook Air bought this summer and updated to Mavericks - Now I have the freezing problems. Hoping an update fix will come around.

Anything new on this?
