Maverick X is a lot like Obamacare. Lots of talk and no performance.

It's working great for me, much better than Mountain Lion.

Sorry you're having problems, but keep generalizing, and make sure to bring politics into it if it makes you feel better. If you think that makes you sound clever and witty, you're wrong.

Are you having a color screen with osx 10.9.3 during startup? What is you system? Retina Macbook Pro? Thanx.

No, startup is fine, nothing unusual at all.

I'm on an iMac, but I found this on the Apple forums, from someone with a rmbp:

https://discussions.apple.com/message/25849867#25849867

This seems to have solved it for them.

I am little sceptic about this PRAM Reset. I am worried that I can lose some of my settings. Besides, many people complain that clearing out PRAM solved the problem only temporarily....

Have you ever Reset PRAM?
Do you loose any settings when you do it? Will I have to set up any setting again?
Is it totally safe?
Is this PRAM reset like Resetting iPhone/iPad? (Holding MENU & Power buttons for 10 seconds)?

Thank you. (yes, I am new to Mac) :))

I've done it before, and it reset a few preferences that were easy enough to change back. It won't harm your machine, and as far as I know, it's totally safe. I've never heard of it causing any problems.

In any case, you should have a current backup (unless you like living dangerously!) so you can revert back to that if you have to.

Here's the Apple support page on it, with instructions:
