Just want to add that 12.1.1 did not fix the issue, still happening on my end.

I can confirm 12.1.1 did not change anything in this area. Had my first experience with this this morning with dual SIM activated

Hey everyone, had the same problem. The only way to fix it is to delete the text message and retext that person from a brand new text message.

Sadly I can't risk deleting the whole chat history on my end, so I wouldn't go that route.
