Here's the how-to. The icons I made myself, with some additional help from this fine chap, who made a TON of others that I didn't need. You can download the zip package for all of them here.

Dead pixels will never show up on a screenshot - take your machine to Apple, likely your graphics card is going out.

well, there is a yellow streak down the side of my computer that isn't showing up in the picture, meaning i have dead pixels and my graphics card is dieing. Joy!

Also, my computer freezes every day, multiple times.

I just need a new mac, using an imac g5 (2005)
