Please just give us a refresh. The new Airpods Pro blow the Max out of the water in every way. Meanwhile Max is left dead in the water (despite being blown out of it mere seconds ago). Tim Apple I'm begging you, I'll even buy a Vision Pro if it means we can see an update to the Airpods Max ToT

They've let these sit for awhile. I have the original AirPod Max's and while they are good, they need to reduce the weight. If they do that (and Apple actually does ever release new ones) I would consider them. I want the USB-C but not enough to go upgrade just for that. Otherwise I will go back to Bose or try Sony (or some other variant).

ETA: Apparently Ming-Chi Kuo is saying the 2nd version will enter production in 2027... so likely still a ways off.

I'm glad Apple haven't done the usual incremental upgrade* path with the Max, as I still love my original set - they're truly iconic headphones. I hope a new version is launched to coincide with new wireless streaming tech, whether that's over wifi or higher bandwidth bluetooth. Given the 2027 date, I presume that's what's planned.

*Discounting the USB C change to comply with EU regulation.
