Sorry you got one too.

That's about what mine looks like, only my scratches appear longer & deeper. Yet photos don't always show how bad things really are.

After a three month ordeal with eight 3" long scratches on the lid & palmrest of my special order $3,100 MBP, three replacement orders charged to my credit card, lucky I have a high limit, I finally got one that "only" had three 1.25" scratches.

I gave up, caved in and kept it :)

I thought you were going to stick to your 4S because you were happy with they way you had it setup? :p

Especially with electronics equipment, there will always be around a 1% chance a product will arrive DOA, faulty, or complete die within 30 days.

I'm sure these issues are real, but also this medium gives an inordinately large voice to a vocal minority.

Not hyped up but overamplified here. This happens every time Apple releases a new product, whether it's the new MBP or iMac. People find themselves in a state of shock when they get a perfect one after hearing the horror stories here. This is expected as problems rather than perfectly working products have an easier time finding their way here.

I had two new iPhone 4s under apple care in 18 months, so if mine has a little tiny issue I will live with it as chances are I will get a replacement when it does!!!! I think this is also an issue as the 4 and 4s were immaculate out he box, no one I know has ever had an issue when new... So people are used to the high standards and are correct to expect that as they are a premium luxury item...
