MB or MBA

Interesting thread as I'm in a similar situation - the price for a MBA refurb (1.8 / SSD) is about the same as for a mid-tier new MB.

As I would only be using it for internet / music / movies I'm tempted to go for the MBA, due to the better screen and general sexyness However, posts about issues with overheating / core shutdowns with video mean that I'm questioning whether to go for the MB - thoughts?

I bought my last notebook shortly after the Air came out, I had the same dilemma. I actually bought the Air being seduced by it's thinness. After 2 days returned it for a Blackbook. Never missed the Air. I found it very slow and I couldn't deal with it. Never missed it a minute after I got the BlackBook. My new Alum MB has the same specs only larger HD. (My husband inherited the Blackbook) As I said earlier in this thread, I'm thrilled with this notebook. No complaints, no problems, no hang ups, no flaws. It's lighter and slimmer and that's good enough for me.

Be sure and tell us what you buy.

I would advise against the the 1st gen mba. If you do alot of multitasking you will notice the sluggishness.
