I get the same, in the lower half of the screen, but they flash up only briefly for less than a second.

+1 the same thing. sometimes they gone for a couple of days... I don't know why the come back. look like software but they did not disappear after reinstalling OS

Have you gone into the Apple Store to show them? I would be very surprised if they didn't try to do something for you if you showed up in person, because that kind of defect is unacceptable. If they can't find a solution in-store or at a service center, it would be a reasonable option to replace your unit.

I spoke with apple support. and if you look in google., or here you'll find that it's common issue. not so, but it is.
they ask me to wait for next big update.

for now I know how to fix it, but I hate this situation. I never use terminal in my 2013 MBP

Wow! How much replies ! So we can say, that this problem is massive . Today I was in restore (premium reseller and service ) they took my laptop for diagnostic, also I have sent them that screen from my post with lines. Diagnostic and repair must take about 9 days, after that I can say you what the trouble is. In our conversation we talk about display change (not really think that is reason) and motherboard change.... one of this... device change is not possible and that is really sad because I have problems with expensive laptop and also I can’t do my daily tasks without it for 9 days... Apple... Hello... stop this...:(

Replace device is not possible. Only Apple Watch, iPad, or iPhone with few problems like a camera damage or audio problems

If it’s software bag it’ll be really sad because they will dissemble my unit)) don’t like this things...like factory assembling

Edit to say, just called Apple Support, who recommended an SMC and then a PRAM reset, possibly trying Safe Mode if the problem occurs after that.

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac
Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac
Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

Not sure if the problem is totally fixed now, will have to wait and see.
Any news? Try to watch videos or render clips, i was sure That it was in high temp, but today lines was in absolutely cold unit, I turned coolers to max speed specially to test it in different T modes

Yes i get the same thing; I posted here https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/mbp-2018-display-horizontal-garbled-fuzz.2192708/

Mine is the 2018 model, but i get the exact same horizontal garbled line that flickers on for about half a second. Can be when im scrolling or screen refreshes. I have just booked an apple store appointment for next week. My laptop has already been repaired twice for broken keyboards. I am going to ask for a replacement unit.

FWIW, after taking these steps (post #7), I haven't seen a recurrence of the problem yet.

I to have the same issue and have done the same steps as posted earlier. The artifacts will stop, but only for a short period. The will be back in a few days.

Please keep us in the loop on how the Genius Bar appointment went. I've done the resets as described in post #7 and the problem went away for a bit and has returned. I have the 2018 model as well.

I've now purchased two brand new 13" macbook pro's with this issue. Both 4 core i5, one with 512 GB and one with 1TB. I'm three days away from when I can return the computer 0 questions asked, and seriously considering it, as it does not bode well for the future reliability of the machine.

Quite a bit of hassle and sounds like a widespread issue.

Great... :(
Luckily I've seen that in my unit only twice in over 1 month timeframe and it never lasted for longer than a blink of an eye. I think I saw somewhere suggested that it was just OS issue and will be fixed in Catalina but if they really fixed the machine with the identical issue by changing hardware bits, then it cannot be done that way.

In his case, once it showed up, it stayed there until he shut down. It was an intermittent issue but he said that it was annoying when it happened.

I just updated to 10.14.6. In the extended notes they mentioned that it resolved some graphical issues after the computer goes to sleep. I'm hoping that's a fix. I'll update here if I see it again after the update. Really hoping I don't have to return this machine, otherwise I love it.

I think that is different issue. In my case flashes have lasted only fraction of second and I have seen them like twice in over 1 month so far.

I am getting random flashes that last less than a second on my 15 inch 2018 MBP. I cannot make out any particular pattern since it doesnt last long. And it happens even when not doing anything. I cannot reproduce it. No particular application seems to cause it. Since 2006, this is the first crappy laptop from apple I have encountered.

I've had those very, very occasionally on my 2018 13" but with no sort of pattern to when they appear. If I'm shutting the machine down or rebooting, I often get something similar in white static when the screen goes black.

They happen so infrequently that I've not done anything about it although my logic board is getting replaced soon so it will be interesting to see if that fixes things.
