I would really like to get a mac book air because of the size but i debating between a MBA 1.8ghz with the 80gb hd or a MB 2.2ghz with 120gb hd and 4gb ram? They will be about the price but how would they compare? I store all of my songs on a external hard drive but i use PS3 and Dreamweaver alot and Adobe Premiere Pro every once in while and of coarse browse the internet and listen to music. How would these suit me? I dont really have the money for a MBP and it would be alittle to big for traveling so out of a MBA or MB what would you recommend for me?
Thanks

For me, it would be the 2.2 GHz MB. I went to the store yesterday and had a look at the MBA. It looked chic and sleek, no doubt !! BUT.. lack of ports.. a poor lil sucky Mono Speaker(big turnoff).. a Black keyboard (i personally dislike the 80's Aluminium-Black look :() and Ofcourse the :apple:hefty price-tag:apple: made it a No-Buy for me ! So, I ended up buying a MB 2.2 GHz (for my gf)
I am a sucker for sleek sexy gadgets but even after the long excruciating torturous wait for the MBA, I don't seem to be too impressed with it. Maybe it's because of my use/requirement that I won't go for a MBA. I agree it's not exactly a laptop, its somewhere between an Ultraportable and a Laptop. So I won't complain that it's a "Miss".
Though it would be interesting to see a poll.

Given $2000 as your savings dedicated for your next laptop for years to come, what would you buy for your day-to-day use.
a) MB highest config + RAM + goodies(accessories)
b) MBP 15" mid-config
c) MBA

For me, I would go for MBP(I am waiting for the updated config and I am in for it !). For my gf its the MB.

For you, I would suggest a MB. I am happy I did not fall for a MBA. I believe it would be wise to wait for a MBA rev 2 if you really really want such a thing.

P.S: If it was priced at $1399, I would have given it a second thought :p

Update : I got both the MB(for my gf) and the new penryn MBP(for me). Yohooooooo !!

:apple: MB 2.2 GHz, iPhone 8 GB(1.1.3), iPod 5th gen 30GB, iPod Nano :apple: Samsung P30 (old-lovable since 08/2004)

Right off the bat, if you're going to use PS3 and Dreamweaver the MBA isn't designed for you and you'll have a frustrating time. The MB would seem like the logical choice considering the things you're going to be using it for.

Wow... I just got back from the apple store and the Air is SLOW. I can't wait anymore so I walked out with a brand new 2.2 MBP. I can deal if they just update the trackpad and keyboard.

I would say MB or MBP. Only get the Air if you travel A LOT!

Well my current computer that i do all my work on now is running this- Intel Pentium 4 3.40ghz 1gb of ram PC

How would a 2.2ghz Intel Core Duo MB with 4gb of ram compare to that?

??

Hello, I'm pretty new to macs (looking to buy a MB or MBA revision 2 maybe) but anyways...if I was to buy a black macbook and install my own RAM would that void the warranty if I get apple care? I've heard many different answers regarding the warranty situation. Thanks for your help!
