My up and down arrows are definitely louder. The Shift keys are also a bit louder but not as loud as the up and down arrow, which also feel a bit different (more clicky?) than the other keys. On the whole, my keyboard is quite quiet.

I have the same issue with right shift and enter keys.
Also I using EU keyboard with L enter.
Someone have solution? Should we replace our devices?

First confirmed duplicate of the issue. Thanks for posting it and sorry that you're affected. Interesting theory if it relates to the layout - I really hope it doesn't because in that case we're more or less screwed.

I went to the local Apple store today. The guy at the genius bar basically confirmed the issue, wrote some kind of report describing it and recommended me to use the 14-day exchange policy. So I did right away and I'm waiting for a new machine to arrive. Unfortunately, since it's a 16GB RAM version, it's sent from China which is going to take almost two weeks..

I'll report back when I get the replacement, but since it's going to take a while I'd recommend you to go down the same route (unless you feel that you can live with the noise).

Also, I tried to check the keyboards on the laptops in the store but it was difficult due to the noisy environment and I got the impression that only 2017 machines were on display, and the staff couldn't give me a clear answer. Would be great if we could confirm if this is a bigger (layout related) issue.

Here is my post. Also few people have the same issues ;)

OP here again. Just wanted to reconnect in the issue. Got my replacement laptop and the sound/noise is more or less identical. I'll learn to live with it and keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't mean lesser protection from the silicon membrane.
