I took my MBP to the Invisishield booth to get it refitted but they just put on a new one. Its a lot better matched but still has some exposed areas but very minimal...I am satisfied btw the girl doing it was pretty cute

Give it time, the scratches will come :)

I beg to differ. I have had my uMBP for 6 weeks and I am fanatical about caring for her.
I have 2 tables in my drawing room, one for my mac and one for my cup of tea or can of beer. I never place any fluid or food on the same table as my mac. When I carry my mac from room to room I place her in a sleeve, and when I take her out my house I put the sleeved MBP in a swiss army knife company made bag.

People might say my level of solicitousness is excessive, but when I sell her I want to get the best price possible and after all she is a mac, it's not like owning a windows based PC laptop, I know the ally case is great when dealing with twisting forces but I realise that ally can be easily dented or scratched.

But I wouldn't dream of applying a plastic film to her. It would do nothing for serious knocks and merely encourage carelessness.

I am the same some would say OCD, perhaps I do have it..., but after owning expensive things you realize that you want to have some sort of practical solution...I agree that the utmost responsibility should be taken when dealing with any prized possession but it should not hinder its practicality.

Some one in this post made a remark as "dont forget to where the bubble suit too" this might be a rude remark but his intentions are wise...we (I) purchased this laptop as a tool to get my work done sure I love it and do more than just work but I should not be ridiculously protecting it to the point that it hinders from portability.

I am very glad to have purchased the Invisihield and it does a great job and also I for one like the deep shine it gives. I take care of my MBP but nothing to excessive.

i only would do the bottom of mine. never the top. IF i was to do it. The issue with invisible shield and the like is that they tend to get dirty over time and discolor, ugly brown yellow, ends up looking like your device is covered in nicotine stains.

I prefer bestskinsever.com anyhow. Same stuff, cheaper.

Zagg online is actually have a sale for everything 50% OFF so it would be even cheaper than the skin site recommended above...but thanks for helping forum members out :) btw Zagg offers lifetime warranty on all their products so if anything does go wrong or stained just get it replaced :) one more benefit of using Zagg. They install a BRAND NEW shield and through the old one away because I wasnt satisfied...talk about service

Why is it that I always miss out on the best deals? :( I only got a measly 40% off! :p

Anyway, I'm glad everything worked out for you.

With Zagg's lifetime warranty you can get a replacement shield for the cost of shipping, if and when it gets damaged. That to me is worth any added cost.

Well I also paid 40% and we don't have to get sad/angry for a measly 10% difference...but sure wish I could have taken part in it. Well I just finished calibrating my MBP

I was going to get this installed...but no one around here does it anymore because it takes so long. so I left it alone, but the shield is AMAZING

if you really are disappointed with the product and somehow can get your money back, I say go with wrapsol. I ordered the wrapsol when i ordered my new macbook pro and the fitting is perfect. The top of my macbook was such a pain to align because it was such a perfect fitting. If one corner was off, the adjacent corner was also off. Also the material is smooth to the touch unlike the Invisishield. I compared the feeling to a macbook pro without a skin and it doesnt feel exactly the same but its similar. Looking at my macbook compared to the one without one, you wouldnt even know its on. Also the product screams quality. When i received it, I was surprised to see the liquid tubes that they provide you with were in glass tubes. They also give you two when you barely need half of one.

QFT, I love the wrapsol, but wasn't trying to make this a wrapsol vs zagg thread, as they both work well, but personally I don't like the look of the zagg.

i've avoided invisible shield for this reason. i much rather prefer going with bodygaurdz! better cut outs, less grippy, and doesn't give the orange peel effect.

actually, I think you saved money or paid the same amount because you got free shipping since it was over $30 with the 40% off, but with 50% off it's under $30, so you have to add on $6 for shipping.

40% off of $55 is $33
50% off of $55 is about $27 + $6 shipping = $33

I'm the same dude, but unfortunately I can't say the same for my better half and my two cats...

Basically, I'm really scared when somebody other than me are even near it. I could probably keep it scratch free if I was the only one to ever touch it. The IS gives me peace of mind though and I think it looks better. Might give the wrapsol a try though.

BTW: If you are using it naked, take a look underneath. Do you see the white text on the bottom? I'm guessing it's starting to come off... She deserves better than that, as I'm sure you know :)
