MBP 16" speaker grille cut-out

From a bit of research, I understand that these cut-outs are the speaker and the microphones, but they are way too visible. Is this normal? Will this not affect the speaker/microphone in the future?

Those areas look different because they're the only holes that actually go all the way through (for the speakers and mics as you correctly say). Don't understand what exactly you think might affect the speaker or mic performance going forward?

Well, from other threads, some people think that the speakers/microphones might stand out that much because stickers or some covers have been left in, so I'm worried this might later accumulate a lot of dust or block the speakers. I'm just hoping it's a cosmetic problem, rather than a hardware one 😔.

They look like that from that angle on all models, it's just because you can see down into the dark inside of the computer while the rest reflect light back from the solid metal at the bottom of the holes. Nothing to worry about with it!

I'm not so sure. Admittedly I've only seen one 16", my own but it doesn't have this at all. The speaker grills look perfect, no dark patches or anything. They also sound great.

So I don't think ALL of the 16s have this.

It doesn't look like this on mine either, I just looked at it from all possible angles and even shined a flashlight over it and I can't even tell where the mics are supposed to go.

I also only have mine to look at so don't really know how are they supposed to look.

Couple of previous 15" machines for reference, looking at the computer from this oblique angle makes the real holes more apparent than they are when looking more squarely down at the keyboard deck:

Anyone else notice that you can see the "cut outs" or speaker diaphragm area in the speaker grills. This happens under certain light. I know most of the holes in the casing is cosmetic, but I wasn't expecting to actually see where the speakers are.

Hello everyone, I just purchased a new MBP from Best Buy after returning an XPS 9575 that had trackpad issues. I just noticed 3 strange circles above what I assume is the speaker itself behind the grille on the left side of the keyboard. The form a triangle. It is not present on the right side...

@crazyhuhu I did some tests from different angles with a flashlight. I have exactly the same. It's visible at some angles and lightning. Perfectly normal, no worries.
