So I finally got my new MBP.

Installed Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

There are 64-bit drivers on the Restore DVD.

Everyting works, graphics, audio, wifi...

To summarize: You can install Vista 64 bit without any problems on MBP.

Yes, Vista Ultimate runs beautifully on the MBP. Yes, it'll run the 64bit version, but I'd stick to 32bit for better software compatibility (and generally faster performance).

Personally, whatever the laptop, I'd recommend sticking with XP. Much faster performance, better software compatibility in general, generally less fuss.

Plus Vista is a hog. I reverted back to XP and saved 15 GB.

wow, i never knew that.

To clarify, you are saying you can boot the same virtual machine in either vmware fusion or bootcamp?

I am indeed. I installed Vista (you can use XP as well) in BootCamp, and Fusion mounts that partition and boots it up. So if i want to play a game, I reboot into Windows - but if I'm just needing to work in Visio, Word, or whatever I just do that via Fusion.

I would suggest upgrading to 4GB of RAM if you plan on doing this so that Fusion has enough RAM to run the virtual OS as well as leaving plenty for OS X.

I have been running Vista ultimate 64bit for more then 3-4 months!

No problem at all! Sees all my 4gb ram as well.:D
