Watching videos (flashplayer) increases CPU use. Increased CPU use means the computer is working harder, which decreases battery time.

Keep an eye on time remaining. It will decrease quite a bit while watching a video. Now quit watching the video. After a few minutes you should see your time remaining jump back up a bit. Just the way it is.

Apple's battery time is the MOST it could possibly get. However, running any applications will decrease this time. Any application that is CPU intensive will lower the battery time even more.

Thanks for your reply, it sounds stupid but im new on this forum and this is my first MBP 15. I have a IPAD 64 GB and the battery is much better, can you tell me why the IPAD battery works so much better??

Your iPad doesn't have a hard drive, doesn't run Mac OS X, doesn't run Flash on websites, and many other things that draw much more power. Therefore, your iPad doesn't have the power requirements that your MBP does.

Jesus christ this kid is so paranoid about his battery.

Protip Freddy: Use your computer, it is working fine.
Protip: If the battery is low - It is a good idea to put it on the charger.

Because the processor is not even one eigth the power, it doesn't have a hard drive, ram sticks, a videocard, etc to run, it doesn't run flash and almost all of the device is used to stick the huge battery in. Basically there is no reason your iPad would have less battery life than your MBP, you are comparing two completely different machines, with different power needs.

ok, i know i am paranoid.. but is this normal for a 2 day old notebook?

Yes, it's normal. PLEASE read the Battery FAQ I posted. Read it all. If you read it carefully, you won't need to keep asking questions that have already been answered by the FAQ.
