I am not able to use this resolution. The highest resolution is 1440x900 to set in game. 1 month old notebook and here comes the format :/

If I were you and you have an external HD at hand I would try to do a clean install on the external first and see if this helps, but before you do you could also create a new User in Users & Accounts, then login into that account and see if the lag is also there, this is done in a few minutes, won't say it will solve it but a clean User sometimes does make a difference, if it solves the problem you know you have issues in your normal account.

Thanks for the reply and here is the thing: Safari and Chrome got lags on normal account and on my second account, safari works w/o lags. This is definitely interesting because I only have chrome, Skype, Office and HoN installed (and atMonitor). Will the recovery and complete wipe solve it?

i have the base 15" mbp with the 512mb 650m, and it runs hon just fine with 10.8.3, and even 10.8 when i first got the laptop. same with movies etc.

there are several things that might be causing the lag:

1) corrupted osx
2) some kind of a process eating resources
3) system overheating
4) internet lag (for example, lots of hon players from brazil connect to american servers, and experience lag)
5) hardware issue

i think that the first thing you should do is format your mbp, and install everything from scratch, no restores/recoveries. after that's done, open up app store, and check for any additional updates. then download the latest version of hon, install it, and run it to see how it will perform.

The place I bought it (university Apple Store) said if I do a wipe it will effect the warranty :/ I will contact with Apple tomorrow to see what's the real thing.

The confused smileys say enough.

What a boatload full of non sense, totally NOT true, you won't loose warranty when reinstalling OS X.

They sell the brand but don't know anything about it. I always wanted a Mac and I started to think did I do it right :/ Anyways, I have hope still, the university IT guy will try a few tests and see if there is something wrong. If not, I will reinstall it.

I am a fairly new OSX user and now own a MacBook Pro Retina 15" model. I have been floating through the site for a while now but I am having an issue and hope you all can help. I, too, am having lag but only while on the internet. I have 50Mb speed and my speedtests confirm that. On my nephews PC, while on my network, he has no issues but I cant watch a simple song on YouTube without lagging or even make this post without rebooting my MBP and my internet. I do have 10.8.3 and this Mac is only 1 week old. Getting rid of it is not an option as I am here to stay so can you guys give me some other tests or updates I can try before doing a fresh install and losing everything? Thanks in advance.

Also, like I said, I am new to Mac so be gentle! I am a techie so I understand almost everything about PC's but not too much about OSX.

EDIT: I wanted to add I get this in both Safari and FF.

I have stuttering problem. When i play bf3 on my rMBP. game is not smooth even though i get above 30fps. but there is no problem with max payne 3, no stuttering. I don't know why stuttering happens on bf3.
