I think I am content with my 15", so I don't particularly *need* the matte screen. I mean, the glossy screen becomes an irritant if I am in direct sunlight or heavily lit environments, but not enough for me to be trying to switch it up or anything.

glossy is fine indoors or without a bright light behind you. if you work with bright lights around you or outdoors matte is better. but you can train yourself to ignore glossy glares.

But I don't regret it. Colours look so much deeper, richer, more vivid. And with that black surround... so damn sexy. :)

Is it just me, or do any of you find it weird when people call their computers, hardware, phones, etc 'sexy'? I mean, I think laptops and phones that are designed well are nice to look at but definitely not 'sexy'. Women are sexy ,imo, not machines.

Anyways, I prefer matte..glare is terribly annoying.

I have a 15'' mid 2007 matte.

there's no way in hell i'm buying another apple laptop until they bring back a matte option on the 15''.

17'' is way too big (carrying to class and stuff) and I can't deal with glossy screens. the colors are all wrong and there's way too many reflections and glares.

That is correct. I'll stick with desktop computers instead, or have the LCD changed to a matte one.

+1 same for me. I'll never use a glossy screen. So the desktop computer won't be an iMac and won't use an Apple display.

well if you're carrying it to class - you probably don't need a MBP!
