Post your production year, battery health, and cycle count.

I have Apple care and it will run out this December. Is it true Apple replaces the battery if under 80% health before the Apple Care expires?

No, no it is not.

That is 100% at the store's/reprensentative's discretion. A battery is a consumable item and its depletion is the result of normal wear and tear. A few people here and there have had theirs changed on Apple Care, but they're definitely not the majority.

With that said, there are litterally hundreds of threads where you could've gotten this information. The related threads below the box I'm typing in contains 5 of them

2015 retina MBP
Battery Age 88 days
Capacity 98.4
Load Cycles 5

I am postive Coconut battery is severely inaccurate. I rebooted the Mac a few days ago and it read 99.9% capacity. An hour later it lowered to just above 97.
I also have a one month old 2012 13" MBP and coconut battery is all over the place on it too with just 5 cycles on it.

I have two MBPs. This one, a mid 2012 15" rMBP and a late 2011 17" cMBP that was built in May 2012, just before they went out of production - the last of the 17's. Both currently have 1 TB SSDs and 16 GB RAM. Here's their battery statuses:

2012 15" rMBP:
Age: 37 months
Cycle count: 236
Capacity: 93%

2011 17" cMBP:
Age: 39 months
Cycle count: 642
Capacity: 91% (not bad for this many load cycles)

Not the only ones with a low usage MBP Retina...

6 months ago the battery cycle count on the Retina was probably only about 4 - then I had to reverse the system rolls temporarily when I started having issues with WiFi on the non-Retina!

He asked you the question as your battery cycle number is quite low. Since u don't use the battery alot, a desktop computer would have been a better option.

Low battery counts mean good selling value right? Anyway, I plugged it at school dorm, StarBucks, and everywhere I go I always plug it in. I am okay with it while on the battery.
