My 2012 was built in June 2015.It's not strange. It was manufactured in March 2015, but it's still a mid 2014 model. The 2015 model came out around June or so.
Look at the classic MBP. The last update was in mid 2012 but it is still being sold new 3 years later. Some of them may have even been built in 2015 but the model is still mid 2012. Makes sense?

To someone else who posted that low battery counts mean better resale value, not necessarily because batteries need to be used to keep the battery in good condition.
I once sold a i year old MBP with barely 5-6 cycles on it. The new owner told me the battery was bad and would shut off at about 40%. I told the owner that I obviously rarely used it on battery power so I had no idea. Apple replaced the battery anyways for the new owner since it had so few cycles on it. It had no Apple Care.
Even today I sill prefer laptops even though I never take them out of the house. I can use them anywhere at home and I do unlike a desktop. I do have a Mac Mini as my desktop and still have two MBPs. I try to use them on battery power once or twice a month.
Ever try to use an iMac while laying in bed or on the couch? The iMac tends to fall over a lot.I just had to ask: Why even bother with a laptop?
Fair enough, but if all you do is browse in bed, you'd be better served by an iPad. It'd be much cheaper too.Ever try to use an iMac while laying in bed or on the couch? The iMac tends to fall over a lot.
I have an iPad. I haven't touched it since buying my MBP in May. The iPad is hardly a MBP. It's too limited.Fair enough, but if all you do is browse in bed, you'd be better served by an iPad. It'd be much cheaper too.
