I had a 2009 MacBook Pro that I ended up selling for $900 to kinda offset the price of the new MBPR

I mean the laptop was working better then fine but I was holding out for the retina display for so long and when it came out I just had to have it haha.

Late 2007 white Macbook. Upgraded to 4GB RAM and a 750GB 7200rpm HDD, but she's showing her age all the same... and I'll get about 25% of the cost of the new Macbook Pro for this old one, which is pretty good I think.

Going to be quite the upgrade!

Early 2011 MBP 15". Quad Core i7 2.2GHz, 8GB ram, 128GB SSD, hi-res. Heck of a machine—but then again so is the R-Type. My new config is in my sig below.

I'm probably looking forward to this 512GB super fast SSD just as much as the retina display. It's so hard to do graphic design work on such a small SSD. I was always having to dump files to an external and over the course of the day I would have to stop everything and restart because my system was running low on space. Reboot and back to 10-12GB free. It was awful…but I managed. I'm excited to move my iTunes library back onto my local drive and now I can stop carrying an external drive everywhere I go because I needed it to access files and use as a Photoshop scratch disk! Liberation!

Time to find a smaller bag. I'm also considering picking up a decent micro four-thirds camera so I don't always have to lug around my 7D and giant 24-105L. Maybe later this year. But I'm liking this idea of powerful portability!

2011 13" MacBook Air, but I needed to buy another laptop for my family. The MBA didn't completely fill my coding needs (I needed a more powerful machine while retaining portability) so this MBA I will give to my family the second that thinned-down Retina MBP comes to my door on Monday morning.

A 2007 MBP with 2.4 C2D, the Santa Rosa lol.

Upgraded the RAM to 4Gig and replaced the HDD with an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD.

I had a late-2007 white MacBook as well, but with only 2GB RAM and 160GB 5400 RPM hard drive. And I used to run Photoshop and Final Cut 7 on that thing! Got my Retina MacBook Pro this morning and it's like going from a Nokia to an iPhone. Loving it.

Early 2008 Non-Unibody 15" Macbook Pro with a 2.4 GHz Core2Duo and 4GB RAM. This new Retina Macbook Pro on the way is going to be a really big step up. :D

I had a mid 2009 Macbook Pro 15"

Sold my computer 4 days after the presentation and went straight to BB and bought the RMBP... not looking back either :D
