They always have been, or they just want a sale.

I've called up twice last year to ask if they stock the anti-glare model in store and both times they said no, it has to be ordered online or over the phone.

I call up my local Apple Store and they say they do have the anti-glare model (only the high end) available in store.

I'm hoping this is the case here too.

At least two stores I went to had the antiglare option on the 17 inch with the I7-620m processor upgrade. For the 17 inch at least, that's the only other config they had. folks who wants a drive upgrade in store are SOL and must BTO.

Confirmed now for Toronto Eaton Center with High res models in stock

I was there this afternoon and they only have the High Res Antiglare option in. They said the Glossy High Res was online only.

Also called Yorkdale, and they said the same thing.

The Apple Store in Palo Alto only has the high-end 13", and no new display models- I'm probably going back tomorrow so I can play with the i5s.

Haha.

Why is it so hard for Apple to send an email to all stores and employees after a product launch to clearly detail what is what?

A clear description of what will be available in store and what options are online only would be great.

Yeah...they didnt really seem to know what they actually had. Although one guy went to the back to double check what they actually carried, which was nice.

Ordered mine online, and waiting for the 2-4 day shipping (which I hope turns out to be 2 :) )

they have hi-res 15" at my store.. just not the anti glare hi-res for some reason. kinda lameeeeee

so I would call the apple store near you to confirm this.

edit: actually don't call because they will probably give you wrong information lol.. seems to be happening with this update for some reason.. no one at apple knows what the hell is going on. all the employees seem to be hungover from the ipad mess

Yes, they seem clueless about the options... They mislead me to believe they had the 15" hi-res glossy in stock, only to find out they meant the 15" regular res glossy. Most of them in the store do not even know about the "hi-res glossy" option.

For anyone from Houston TX, there are plenty of 17" 2.66ghz hi resolution (antiglare) models at the Galleria Apple store.

There are about 4 stores close to me that have them in stock. I just picked up my 17" i7.
