MBPU 17" Keyboard light probs after 10.5.7 update

More specifically: I can´t switch them on (using f6) in daylight.
As I remember it, that was no problem before Leopard 10.5.7.
Anyone else?

That wasn't normal behavior in 10.5.6 - are you sure you were able to do this?

When the ambient lighting is above a certain level, the keyboard backlight won't come on. That's been the case since Tiger, and on PowerBooks.
