HI All..I got my first Mac.. It's a powermac G5 Quad, and is up and running now after getting it on eBay for just $150.. I didn't like the the condition of the case, so I took all the guts out and installed them in to a nicer looking case with a new PSU too (The old one wasn't giving full power)..I added a full 16GB of memory, and a Geforce FX 512MB card and (2) 1TB hard-drives..Lucky for me this mac wasn't used much (Because PSU went bad), and also the cooling unit never leaked (Mat is bone dry), and it's the 2 pump one... My Quad might be old (Like me) but it surfs the web fine (No lag so far)..

Oh, as for the 2 hard-drives, how many partitions would you recommend to me and size too, as I can reinstall Leopard. Plus I have a lot of games that I've bought for it. My fav one is Unreal tournament (I can now play on-line using my Mac in-stead of my PC))..

My Quad's primary drive is 1TB (one partition, APM) and the secondary drive is 4TB (one partition, GUID).

I have a DC 2.3 which has two 1TB HDs, both formatted APM.

Hi, congrats and welcome! There's a great PPC-trip in front of you.
You've started with the holy grale of PPC. - There's also a lot of G4/G3 stuff to explore, but it'll often be more kind of a bumpy road compared to the G5-Quad.
Have fun!

Thanks for the welcome..Oh, I was even able to get the Cinema 23 inch monitor too (and another one in it's original box too..Plus (HEH) I have another spare Quad CPU''s with the one pump cooling unit) and I can't still believe that a old Mac can still surf the web. Older PC's struggle to do that.. But not the mighty Quad!!! Now to install the software that I bought IE: Games etc.. Though I don't know much about using OS X, as I'm normally a windows guy... as for a program that I need, is there one that tells me the Processor temps in OS X...

Oh, (As I said)..I did get lucky in finding a brand new 1000 Watt PSU on eBay, as my Quad would still be dead as a dodo... Oh, I forgot. The seller said it would make a great paper weight LOL..But I did buy it for spares or repair (I repaired it), so I knew what I was getting into when I bought it...

There is Temperature Monitor and Temperature Monitor Lite.

If you want stats in the menubar there is iStats Menu (versions 1,2 and 3 work on PowerPC) and MenuMeters.

Ok Thanks.. Oh I need help though..You see I added the second hard-drive (Has windows partition on it)..But during the Leopard install it don't see the other drive..But I need to partition it for Mac usage...

If it's a SATA III drive see if you can jumper it down to SATA II speeds. Western Digital drives can do this, but we don't know what manufacturer your drive is.

It's a Western Digital drive. Just like the one that's working in my Quad. Though I don't think that it's SATA III, as it was made in 2013, and just says SATA in it But I'm not sure though..... Model is WD10EZEX...

Oh none of my Hitachi drives are not seen, so i gave up on them (They are 2TB), also what USB cards work in Quad...

You need to jumper the drive down.

Look here: https://support.wdc.com/knowledgebase/answer.aspx?ID=981#satadesktopjump

You want the setting that gives you 1.5GB transfer rate (first diagram). It's the same for all WD drives.

Great thanks so much for looking it up...
[doublepost=1514246511][/doublepost]Oh One problem I don't have any jumpers that small, and is there any USB, and SATA cards available for the Quad..

Could you find the link for Hitachi Drives. Though they have just one header and I jumper that but it didn't work.. (2TB)

You'll need to find a jumper if you want to use that drive. These cost practically nothing, if you have any old IDE drives around you can use a jumper from there if there is one. Or buy a pack of them from somewhere.

There are plenty of USB and SATA cards available. Sonnet brands are generally compatible.

I don't know much about Hitachi drives so I can't really find that for you.

Ok Though one thing is on my mind. I have a lot of Powermac programs that I download onto my PC. Do how do I get them on my mac (For install). I tried Transmac and formatted USB pen drive for Mac.. But Transmac only does images not single files..

If you simply want to copy files from the PC (the downloaded Mac apps), then you should format that USB drive as fat32. You don't need the Transmac software to do that. Or you can format your flash drive as fat32 on your G5 using your Disk Utility. Erase that drive, choosing "MS-DOS (fat)" from the "Volume Format" drop-down. Then you will be able to use the USB drive easily on either your Mac or Windows. :D

Ok , So I boot the Leopard disk and got to utilities then to do it, or can I boot in to Leopard (From the hard-drive..

Are you asking about getting to Disk Utility to reformat your USB drive?
Then, yes.
You have access to Disk Utility while booted to a Leopard installer (It is in the Utilities menu), or to a Leopard system on the hard drive (and Disk Utility is in your Applications/Utilities folder). Whatever is more convenient for you. Just plug in the USB drive, and erase it in Disk Utility. Just remember to choose the MS-DOS (fat), and you will have a good result.

Guys anyone know where I can get Adobe Flash hack 11.5 PPC from.. It's 15MB in size...

Thanks so much (Your a gem).. Now how do I install it. Do I have to download any thing else IE: is it the whole Flash Player package..

Oh whats cards do work with the late 2005 models. Because I have a Mac G5 USB Card and a Wireless card. But they don't fit the slots in my G5...

What I mean is that the 2005 G5's have PCI Express slots so that USB 3.0 or SATA 3 cards work..

There's VPN directly built into the system (network-settings/Add new VPN-network), but "Cisco IPSec"-protocol (as on intel-Macs or iOS) unfortunately is not included. Best 3rd-party solution is "Tracker" v.6, but it's pretty expensive.
Otherwise you may try VirtualPC7 with WindowsXPFundamentals and use any windows solution ...
If it's for RDP-connection to a remote Windows-network, the MS-RemoteDesktop-Client for PPC/Leopard may connect to newer Windows-versions and can't handle certificates on WinServer2008 and above (except the included terminal-client-access, wich doesn't need certificates). For that purpose old WinXPFundamentals with RDP6 is also the workaround.
TeamViewer v.7 is the latest version to be supported on PPC/Leopard, but also requires v.7 on the remote machine (PC/Mac)
Within home-network there's inbuilt FileSharing (AFP/FTP/SFTP). You may use the "GoTo/Connect to Server" option within finder to connect with a PC or WebDAV or Bonjour to connect to another Mac.
For ScreenSharing there's Bonjour (Mac) through Finder or ScreenSharingMenulet and MSRemoteDesktop-Client for Windows-Client or VNC (e.g. with "Chicken") for both Mac and PC.

Thanks for all your help, as I'll try "Tracker" Oh By the way..I have a another G5 Power Mac coming and it's a 970MP, so I guessing that it's another Quad. Can't wait (Only paid $128 shipped), and I hope that it comes without the handles getting bent..If that happens, I'll return it back to to the seller this time.. You see I only had one arrived with no damage (the other 3 arrived with case damaged)..Also, I see if I can get it up and running.. If not I'll look for a working PSU like it did for this Quad (It fixed it)...

Well, instead of annual fees or high costs per single license of vpntracker I'd rather go for an early or late 15" Core2Duo 2,4 MacBookPro for the purpose of "Cisco IPSec"-VPN, if Leopard's inbuilt VPN-protocols shouldn't fit your VPN-server's demands.

(BTW: how about your demands for VPN? )
