I don't really believe this given the number of movies and TV series (House Of Cards e.g.) with the Apple jumping right in your face.

Agreed. House M.D. for example uses iMacs for CT and MRI scans, Wilson has an iPhone, and random patients use MBs.

Into the Storm has everyone using Apple products for the most parts, where it's clear they have an iPhone, MacBook, or iMac with Final Cut Pro on it.

A quick google search indicates Apple are pretty adamant they don't pay for product placement.

I guess they have 'other' arrangements?

They probably 'pay' by supplying product to sets. Not cash.

Took me a while to look in the right area before I noticed she was wearing an Apple Watch, to which I quickly noticed her Apple Watch has a screen protector. Take that, naysayers!

It may just be that the strong light is making the difference between the screen and bezel more obvious. It seems extremely unlikely that they would put an obvious screen protector on a watch used in a movie -- especially if it were product placement.

This doesn't equal paid placement. It equals "we give you free stuff, you use it in your movies and on TV."

It's more like a gentleman's agreement, so to speak.

Some businesses have to give studios money AND product to get them to use it.

That's a paid sponsorship.

If you hold a SS Apple Watch at the right angle, it looks like it has a raised border around the screen.

Mine looks just like the one she's wearing and I have no screen protector.
