I still have the 1GB standard in my new iMac, but have noticed that I usually have almost have as many page outs as I do ins so I know I need more memory.

The question is when to buy. Is there any chance that this price is going to come down much anytime in the next week or two? I don't know how answerable this question is so don't attack me with the fact that you can't predict the future. I figure some of you have followed the trends of these prices more than I have.

Thanks for your opinions in advance.

The price of iMac memory declined a little now that the demand for the machine has calmed down. You can wait a while longer, but get it by the end of this month. After Leopard is released prices may very well increase.

Thanks for the quick advice. I guess there won't be a substantial decrease soon then...

No, you don't (know). It doesn't matter whether you have more page-ins than page-outs or fewer or the same number. What matters is _how many_ you have. If you have 100,000 a day, no problem. If you have a million a day, that is a problem. Whether its 10,000 in and 990,000 out or 990,000 in and 10,000 out doesn't make much difference.

That said, 2GB of RAM for an iMac is cheap.
