Interesting. Based on comments I would think these percentages would have had a drastic change. It looks like it only changed by roughly 3%.

Mapple86, thanks for posting the picture with both sizes on your wrist. I was pretty convinced after seeing your picture that 38mm would be the way to go. So I went to the Apple Store for the 3rd trial to confirm :)

The thing is, my wrists are small (52mm wide and 160mm circumference). All the pics with the 38 look great on the web on small wrists. But in person the 38 is too tiny for my tastes. My wrists are tiny and the 38mm makes my arm look more feminine I am afraid. After much agonizing and lots of photos with various models, I have decided 42mm works best for me.

For anyone else agonizing over this decision, I would recommend trying it in person. Pictures don't give you an accurate picture unfortunately.

The one on my left arm is the 38 with the classic buckle and on my right is the 42 with brown leather loop. That loop size is the larger one and hence it was awkwardly folded. Otherwise, I love the steel with the brown leather loop.

I wasn't able to try it on. I'm a guy and I measured my wrist and its 145mm... I'm pretty sure the 38 is the one for me. Wouldn't 42 just look too big on my wrists?

42 looks better on you, IMO.

Here is one more picture. Sport version 42 on my left wrist.

I'm too used to Panerais and G-Shocks. I finally went to try it on and I couldn't believe how small the 42 is. I thought I was given the wrong one. The size of it has deflated my enthusiasm.

Looks good on you. It may look big in the pictures, but in person, I'm sure its fine.

Yep! I was shocked at the 38! It was TINNNNNY. Without that crown, one finger would probably cover the whole screen.

I feel it is such a personal thing. My wrist measurements would suggest 38 is better, but in person (3 different trials) and every time I came out with 42 as my choice. And then photos on the web or even photos of my own wrist would confuse me :).

Somehow photos on your own wrist too don't always give you an accurate picture. Definitely have the Apple Store rep take the picture as opposed to yourself - sometimes weird angles make it look much bigger than it actually is.

Yes thats right... I was in the store two times now and i will be there a third time too in the next days.
Everytime I decided 42mm is the way to go, and when i was at home, looking at my pictures I thought 38mm would be better.
Are you sure with 52mm with and 160mm circumfence?

I measured again and I think I have 155m and 49-50mm with.

I did my measurement again and this time I got 55mm with 162mm circumference.

So I would loosely say (depending on how and where I measure) - as 52-55mm wide with 160-165mm circumference (I think).

BTW, the measurement is for my left wrist. Right wrist I know is slightly bigger but I have not measured it.

42mm

42 - looks great on you.... best choice

opinions, which looks better. 170mm wrist, 60mm across. One is 38mm other is 42mm.

Edit: wrist across is more like 56-57mm

i tried both, 42 looks funny like I'm in Dick Tracy. Not that I won't say "Calling all cars!" as the first thing I speak into my watch, but the 38mm looks better with my small hands.

White 38. My measurements are exactly the same as yours and that's what I went with and am happy with my choice.

Edit - hey brudda man, aren't you on rfd?

42mm with Milanese loop. link looked better but I didn't take a picture as I was still going oooh aaaah plus I would wear this a bit further back on my wrist
