Lousy picture...beautiful bag...

Shrink. You and I have taste in things in common, I believe. First espresso, then brown leather satchels? Good lord.

I don't have mine here at my other apartment, but here is a Google image:

This is my everyday bag (STM Hood Backpack), very comfy on back with my macbook inside, also carry a Leather Portfolio (folder) inside with stuff for work. Plenty of extra pockets everywhere inside.

Lousy picture...beautiful bag...

The design is based on an 1860's Cavalry Saddlle Bag.

That's a beautiful bag. Where can I get one?

The brass on my everyday bag (posted previously in this thread) of the past ten years gave out a few weeks ago and I'm in need of a bag. 10 years, 5 continents, 40+ countries in all sorts of environments and now she's ready to retire:

Your bag is gorgeous...so beautifully aged.

You can find my bag, called "Saddle Bag Briefcase" at www.colonellittleton.com

Thanks! :)

I am definitely purchasing either that saddlebag or the No. 83 laptop bag some time in the next week or so.

Take care, once you see how incredible his stuff is, it becomes addictive.

I went completely nuts for about 6 months, and in addition to the Saddlebag Briefcase, bought the following:

No.3 Grip
No. 18 Portfolio
No. 5 Cinch Belt
No.3 Leather Possibilities Pouch
Suede Shirt
Brass Luggage Tags (Look great in the briefcase and the grip)

While it took forever to pay off my smoking credit cards, they are items that reall will last forever, and look better and better as the age

Well, as you said, good leather is worth the money because it will last forever. The brass on my bag strap snapped before the leather was worn out. I found a leatherworker who replaced the brass on my strap for a few bucks and now it's as good as new. And as I mentioned, I took that bag everywhere - Sahara Desert, Burmese river deltas, Congolese jungles, mountains of Rwanda, central Asian steppes in the winter and everything in between. The only repair I ever needed done on it before last week was when the stitching where the strap meets the bag gave out in the middle of nowhere, Sudan. I found a shoe repair guy and he had me sorted out in half an hour.

OTOH, I have had supposedly indestructible Cordura ballistic nylon rot apart on me.

I'm trying to decide between that Saddlebag Brief and the No. 83 Laptop Bag. I carry my 15" MBP in either a Booq Vyper or if I'm going somewhere particularly dusty, sandy or wet, a Pelican 1090CC.

What size MB do you carry and how does it fit?

I used to use backpacks religiously until i started using a standard shoulder bag, liked the way i could move the bag and sit whilst stuill secure to me. I wanted a better bag so i invested in the Crumpler cheesy tina, great for work and comfortable, if a little small, so i've recently acquired the crumpler Right hand, for my macbook and ipad, with loads of padding it's great and if i need to run i just attach the third leg strap and it's secure to my back like a rucksack.

I have a 15" MBP for which I have a separate carry bag...but it fits in the Saddlebag. I use the Saddlebag as my work briefcase. Since my practice is in different Nursing Homes, and not in an office...by briefcase is my office.:D
