I upgraded from the 5s to the 6. I looked at the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus, but the 6 Plus was a tad too large for my needs. My decision could have also been influenced by the fact that I already own an iPad mini 2.

I am very conflicted about moving from the 6 to the plus. I am not sure which device is right for me. Any thoughts? Here are my issues:

1) I am under contract with Verizon, so it might cause me significant $$$ to switch. Any way around this ? Contract end in 9/2016. If I include the ETF, it could cost me in excess of $500.

2) I never watch movies or game. Rarely do I watch a YouTube video. I surf, enail and text.

3) I do have an iPad Air 2. Several in fact.

4) Every time I have handled the plus in the Apple Store, I felt my hand was stretching. Some people say you adjust, but what if I don't? The 6 is comfortable.

5) I don't use the phone one handed.

6) We use less than 2GB of data. I am not sure that VZ EDGE is cost effective with limited data usage.

7) if I break the contract, I am not sure what happens to my 2GB of promotional data.

I am visually impaired, but I really don't kniw how much the larger phone will make things easier, as I already have the iPad Air 2.

Thanks in advance.

Just buy one outright from the Apple Store. If you like it then keep it and sell your 6. The money from selling the 6 would net you only $200 or less out of pocket for the 6 Plus. If you don't like it then return it within the 14 days and get your money back.

I can't believe we're applying gender to screen size preference.

MacRumors is a wondrous place!

My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the TRUE emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next. Oh and I have the iPhone 6+ I'm a bloody gladiator! imagine the laughter if I entered Circus Maximus and took a call with the small iPhone 6!

Be a real man and gladiator buy the iPhone6+

Epic post. Although I'm not sure how Maximus would fare in the arena if he had to use both hands to look up something on the 6+ and as a result wasn't able to utilize his sword.

How about an option for both? I went for both and kept both.

Which one do you use mostly, or better yet your usage percentage for each phone?

----------

I own both but initially went for the 6 at launch. They both have their merits!!!
I have kind of wanted both myself. I have a 6 and love it. But I'd like to be able to swap the sim into a 6+ as well.
Is that what you do? Swap sims between the two or do you have two lines?

I use them in a 51:49 ratio.

The iPhone 6 gets about 51% usage because of my work, and since I have less personal time than work time, 49% of iPhone usage goes to my 6+.

All iPhones from the iPhone 5 and later share the same nano-SIM, so SIM cards are swappable between the 5, 5c, 5s, 6 and 6+.

All responses spend on the priorities and use patterns of the individuals. This discussion could go on forever

I've got the 6+ and the wife has the 6. The biggest benefit to the 6+, as far as what we've experienced, is battery life. She's looking to plug in around 6pm each day and I can go almost 2 days without plugging in (we work together so we're both using our phones about the same amount each day).

I like the form factor of the 6, as it's much more pocketable than the 6+, but the bigger screen makes it easier to use the 6+ for email replies, web browsing and maps, when traveling, imho.

I have the 6 plus, too. Never considered the 6.

I am just now about to enter the first summer with the 6 plus, so I am curious to see if the large size is more of an issue with shorts. My day to day pants have deeper than normal pockets, but my shorts don't have that same benefit. I may have cargo shorts in my near future. :D. Still worth it, though. The thing is fantastic.

Had the 6 since launch day, Cracked the screen a few days ago. Went to the Apple store and bought a 6+. Love it! Sold the 6 for $550. I'm happy.

After using a Note 4 I had my employer buy me an iPhone 6 128gb.

While I think the screen and battery life are awesome on the iPhone 6+ I find the size to be more of a hassle then they are worth.

Thats just what works for me. Mileage will vary.

Not quite sure what gender has to do with the size of an iPhone, am I missing something? Surely its down to individual taste regardless of whether you are a man or not?

I agree this just gets tiring when people have to make certain Apple products gender specific. I know lots of people of both sexes who have the 6 plus. The same goes for the 6. It is whatever size you are comfortable with.
