One in 10 single men would rather have an iPad 3 than a new partner, according to a poll.
The research found that 11% of bachelors would rather own the popular Apple gadget than gain a new love interest.
And 3% said they would happily leave a current partner if they were rewarded with the tablet device, the poll of 600 people by online casino RoxyPalace.com found.
Women were found to be more social creatures, with 84% stating that they would prefer to have a new partner than an iPad 3.
Just under half (44%) of those polled said they had used an app to resolve a relationship problem, and 15% regularly consulted the internet for relationship advice.
A RoxyPalace.com spokesman said: "There has been a huge amount of hype surrounding the iPad 3 and for many it's the ultimate gadget, but instead of simply giving up their hard-earned cash it seems some men would be happy to remain on the shelf if it meant taking one home with them.
"The Apple product has a wide variety of functions but even the latest version can't offer some of the things that a new romance can, but it seems many males are happy to Forego this.

So wait... 16% of women would rather have an iPad, yet that makes them "more social" vs the 11% of men? This article doesn't seem to be very true to its stats.

The iPad retains its original value for 10-11 months after release. Most wonen these days degrade themselves very easily. iPad 3 ftw!

Misogyny is alive and well.

Lucky thing all us guys keep ourselves in perfect condition, unlike those women who degrade so easily. I'm sure you are an Adonis compared to those "degraded" women you know.

If you take a poll of constant computer users (geeks?) what would you expect. I'm actually surprised that it was only 16% of the men.

As someone stated above, it's a sad thing when one prefers the company of a device (keep your minds clean here) instead of another person.

I for one would very much prefer the company of a woman than any of my iOS or MAC devices.

First, well spotted :D

Second, I would bet that at any point of time a considerable amount of single men and women don't want any new relationship right now - for example, immediately after splitting up, or during intense preparation for an exam, or catholic priests, just as some examples. And those people would surely prefer a new iPad to a new relationship that they don't want anyway.

Instead of using the word relationship or new partner, they should have used one night stand or get laid. I bet it would have reversed the results.

My girlfriend hates (and also doesn't know) technology. So she doesn't have or care about the iPad. Once I get her one she wil love it I'm sure. I got her a iPhone and she is obsessed with it. (this is from going from a old flip phone),
