THIS!!!!

I've been trying to explain this to people. However it has fallen on deaf ears. If you like pop music dance music and hip hop generally speaking you will appreciate BEATS more. However, I do tend to enjoy a significant amount of alt/rock as well and I appreciated the additional bass with these styles as well. I just don't like trebly sounding music. In fact I pretty much can't stand it as it hurts my ears.

Listen to it loud enough and treble won't bother you any more.

(Except for the tinnitus.)

I tried three or four BT headphones over the years, prices in the range of $50-$150 or so, IIRC. This goes back to my iPod Touch days, up to my 5S. With every one of them, while walking or (god forbid) running, the signal would cut out very regularly. IMHO, if they cut out ONCE while the damn things are 3' away from each other, it's a failure.

So, has that improved over the years? Is the Apple Watch less susceptible to noise/interference because it's not in a pocket/armband/metal box? I have a Parrot BT adapter in my car, and have never had that cut out, but the phone isn't being jostled at all.

Bluetooth headphones for running that work good with apple watch.

I am looking for bluetooth headphones for running that also have a microphone (in case I run with phone)

I bought these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V7Z0LQA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I didn't like them because the removable earbuds kept coming off and they were uncomfortable.

Ideally I would like the apple headphones that are just bluetooth. Those work well and don't have any parts that can fall of or that are cheap.

I am also willing to use headphones that go behind your head and wrap around. I cannot find anything good on amazon and am looking for recommendations.

I have tried a few versions of these out, they didn't sit well in my ears. I use the Mpow Cheetahs which are really good. I was sent these to review and actually ended up using them everyday now!

It is there ones > http://andykumar.net/2015/04/22/mpow-cheetah-sport-bluetooth-4-0-wireless-headphones-review/

I found them to be great for running and they stay well in place.

Love my Sol Shadows...

I bought mine to have a new toy while waiting for my watch to ship. They are super comfy and I have no problem running in them. i haven't had any issue with the battery. I wear them most days for 3-5 hours while commuting running errands working out. They also duel pair so I can have them paired to my PS Vita as well. People do ask you about them quite a bit. And they don't come with a case. That is kind of a pain in the butt.

Comparison

I have those and used them with my iPhone. I bought separate bluetooth earphones to use exclusively with my watch.

Even though they cost less (I bought them for $19.99 with the lightening deal) I actually like them better than the Plantronics. I have small ear canals and find that the HMDX fit my ears better (yes, I have the smallest tip on the Plantronics) and the sound is decent. The Plantronics on/off button tends to be a little bit flakey while the HMDX is more responsive. The HDMX also feels more secure (I wear them without the clip shown in the picture) in my ears during physical activity.

A fairly decent comparison of the two front-runners here:

http://www.soundguys.com/beats-powerbeats-2-vs-jaybird-bluebuds-x-4796/

It would be nice if Apple did something intelligent with the pairing of BT headphones with both the watch and the iPhone (that you could customize the behaviour, but toggle between them without repairing, based on proximity to both as well as preferences).

Example - only the watch is in range, so BT headset entirely paired as a watch accessory - while you're out for a run.

You're at home, out of BT range of the phone, but the watch is on wifi, call comes in, BT headset takes the call (either by button on the headset, or by the answer button on the watch) - connection is through the watch, over wifi back to the iPhone.

If you're in BT range of the iPhone, you're paired with the phone.

I'm very happy with the Jabra Rox with complyfoam tips (so I don't need to use the little winglets)

That would be cool, but I'm guessing the technology cannot handle it, or we would have seen that.

Maybe not in the traditional sense, but Apple controls both pieces. If it's a "shared key" thing in terms of keeping a secure channel for bluetooth, Apple could have that key transferred from the phone to the watch.

The BT headset really wouldn't know any different - you control the behaviour on the watch & phone - to the BT headset, it appears you're always connected to the same device. :)

That might be contrary to the BT spec, but Apple could do it, then beg forgiveness or an amendment to the BT spec after. :)

Many Bluetooth headsets already pair to two devices at once and switch seamlessly between the two. For example, my Bose headphone is paired to my iPad and iphone, and I could be watching video on my iPad then stop the video, pick up my iPhone and make a call, and the sound will switch without having to fiddle with the headset or with any of the device settings.

Adding watch to this matrix is a bit more complicated because it's a third device, but it should be doable. I think the reason we don't have it yet is because Apple just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Nice! Is there an industry standard term for this ability (that I could easily spot on spec sheets, as I'm comparing models?)

Sorry, I have no idea. I've had to resort to downloading the manuals of the bluetooth headphones I'm interested in, and reading through the pairing instructions -- headphones with this feature will have a section on how to pair two devices at once, how to switch from one sound source to the other, etc.

That's unfortunate. I've been looking at getting those because they have such good reviews. Seems like one company makes them and sells them to people to rebrand because there's a ton of the same ones with different branding on them on Amazon.

Example 1
Example 2
Example 3
Example 4, etc.

Mpow Cheetah for $30 over amazon.com were great. Fast charging, great sound, light weight, stay in your ear.

I also got a pair of Mpow Swifts but I found them to be very tinny sounding (very), didn't stay in my ears. I sent them back.

Get the Cheetahs. Great phones for a great price.

To save me hunting through 17 pages - basically I don't want beats and I'm not a huge fan of the jaybirds (having worked for apple) so I'm looking for something else. I only use my headphones on the train, walking to work and in the gym so nothing AMAZING, what would people recommend
