I have both right now - and the EVO is winning. I feel like the iPhone is a little kiddie phone after using the EVO for two weeks. I have gotten used to the screen size and now everything else seems "tiny"! I don't really care that much for all of the progams on either platform. They are nice and Apple has done a better job of UI and app integration, but I really need a smartphone for communications and browsing - and the EVO on Sprint's 3G/4G network is doing a better job right now for me. The only thing I really miss is the better camera and the Flickr app on the iPhone.

Um wait you are comparing a phone that came out on June 4th to a Phone that came out, what, June 18th of last year, and not the updated one that's coming out in two days?

<<mind blown>>

Regardless of the phone, $300 seems pretty outrageous for a family plan, even if everyone has smartphones. Surely you could look at what you're paying for vs. what you're using and save some cash there? Most people don't need as many minutes as they think, likewise with data plans unless you tether.

1. The phone hardly requires too much attention. The notification bar is a thing of beauty and I will greatly regret not having it on my iPhone. Unless you're running stock android, Sense takes care of almost everything automatically.
2. Of course you're going to have to replace your apps, how is this surprising?
3. While I agree the iPhone is much smoother, your fingers sticking to the screen is your problem and not the phone's. Its called put down the Lays chips or wash your hands.
4. Yeah its big, really big. But in defense of the phone, you should have held it at the store before returning it because it was too big. You don't buy a TV without turning it on first, and you shouldn't assume a cellphone is the right size without picking up the model.
5. The app store looks better with Froyo, and Google Checkout works just fine (though I wish it would have charged me by the month and not by each individual purchase). Oh, and the fact that you can return something within 24 hours is the best thing to happen for apps since apps first were sold.
6. Only saving $70? I can count a few things I could do with an extra $240 a year.

1. For me the UI was a headache, i am a simpleton i guess
2. No way to remember which apps I paid for on my iPhone, until i tried to replace them!
3. No its not my problem, iPHone glides like a well lubed.. uh
4. I did hold it first, i thought i would get used to it, I didn't, I just ended up wanting to hide when i took it out of my pocket.
5. Maybe so, but I don't know what Froyo is
6. Only $70, yes, but apparently not enough for me to switch

Well I have five phones: two iphone data plans and unlimited texting is $90 by itself. Add my base plan of $120, $40 for 5 added lines, plus an added feature here and there and bam, in the gut every single bill, uggh.

As for minutes, my wife uses 1900 a month by herself, maybe I need to take her phone away.

Huge pet peeve. THE EVO IS NOT 4G!!!!!!!!!! Stop calling it that.

Neither WiMax or LTE are "technically" but for consumers they are. They are the next generation of speeds that we are seeing and it's easier to call it 4G than 3.5G.

Get over it.

New iPhone doesn't have any bigger screen. The focus seems to be on smaller.

Just an FYI... For those that don't already know, the EVO FPS issue has been resolved by the hackers at XDA.

Gotta love community efforts. :)

Got myself an EVO last night. Canceled my order from Wirefly (taking too long) and picked one up from best buy. The store near me (Springfield Mall, Springfield VA) had a lot of them.

So far it's awesome. I don't have any issues with it. Screen is raising up a bit, but I can wait until they get the fix and do a swap. I'm paying the $10/mo for Best Buy's insurance.
