Personally I stopped updating the Facebook app some years ago and the old app generally works fine, except for group management functions, those are a mess.
Facebook has also made their mobile site almost useless so other browsers like the excellent Friendly Social Media browser barely work. (Facebook tried to sue Friendly for millions and lost so Facebook just crippled their own mobile website instead).
Years ago Facebook crippled their true public posts and public groups open to all without logging in. Which is crazy because they still track anonymous users with accuracy, that is not enough for Sir Mark and team, they ‘wants all your informations’!
There used to be a great Facebook plugin for Wordpress that allowed you to mirror your group to your Wordpress page, you could interact with the group directly from the webpage if you were logged into Facebook or interact with the webpage only without being logged in. Gone for a long time.
Unfortunately, I have found no better website for local information and communication with friends than Facebook. I’m glad the old pre-AI app still works. 😊
