I don't know what you guys are talking about--an $8 X Premium gives you plenty of access to Grok.

It is funny how visceral people are towards Meta/Facebook. I am not user of their platform or any other social media platform but I don't think is any worse then the rest. Any and every corporation that is putting out AI is doing it to make more money. Apple is not doing it because they are just trying to help the world, Google, Microsoft, they are all looking at this as ways to make more money. They might go about it differently but none of them are truly trustworthy of the things you think they will keep safe for you.
I welcome more to the AI realm and while I don't use Facebook I was impressed with Meta when they made Facebook a requirement to use the Quest VR and then listened to the people and actually removed that requirement. How many things have people been asking Apple for other the years and they don't even acknowledge it is a problem or a feature they will implement? Bring on the AI competition, the more fighting and pushing in this realm will either be better for humanity or will empower androids and robots to turn against us all.

I've been using ChatGPT for fun, access to arcana it would take me days or months to dig up through the mountains of irrelevant search results, and helping me to form a cogent argument for a massive public works project to bring TSMC and associated chipmakers and their suppliers from Taiwan to the United States. You have to see it to believe how convincing the paper we came up with is!
I would trust Zuck as far as I can throw him. So if I use Meta’s standalone app for my company’s research, Meta would never use this proprietary info to try to sell advertising to me or god forbid go ahead and give my sensitive info (cogs, ad spend, revenue) to my competitors, right? RIGHT?
You should not be using any public AI for that sort of work. Your company needs to be using a sandboxed AI.

Grok is free to use. If you subscribe to X you get a more advanced version. You don't have to pay it $8.

I'm sorry, I thought the guy you responded to was talking about improvements to Grok; not ChatGPT (which is also no charge if you have 365, which I have personally and through work).
If I could go back in time (which I can't) I think I'd edit my initial post to include the longer messages I typed later in these messages, as I think many agree with some of the points made - regarding grok being the one to be a better alternative, meta being a stagnant monopoly, issues with Zuckerberg, etc. If that's ok for me to type. Thank you.
I do hope they become a big alternative. They offer something different that all the existing models do not.
You say that like all the other tech bros are on a mission for peace or something. They arent working to a higher calling. They want your money just the same as Zuckerberg and yes Tim is more concerned about how your new iPhone purchase boosts the share price, then if you think he is changing the world.
Why should Apple be directly competing with these other companies? They make their money from hardware and subscription services. Apple Intelligence will be a gateway to any major AI system on the planet as the Extension library grows.
Yes, Siri needs to improve and it will, but riding the coattails of these other AI systems is Apple's best strategy.
How many Apple computers, phones and tablets are being sold to the developers creating these AI systems? LOTS!
Yeah since most Apple Intelligence issues and complaints according to users are in iPhones, but I didn’t hear iPad and Mac users complain about Apple Intelligence, the reason behind that is iPads and Macs have better compatibility with Apple Intelligence plus they have more power and juice in their hardware
