The aircraft in this game feel good, but are not really realistic as far as I can tell. There is a decent flight model, if you point up you’ll run out of airspeed, but airplanes appear in this game in some cases are not equivalent to their real world role. For example Attack aircraft attack things on the ground (A4, A6, A10) but there are no ground targets in this game, so you end up fight other airplanes.
Interceptors, are not designed to be mixing it up in dogfights, but you’ll see them doing this frequently, because the arena is rather small where you are not shooting your missiles at targets 20 miles away. Just go with the flow.
Note early, you do have to learn how to manage your "acceleration fuel", do not be running without reserves.

  • Free or Pay to Win?- I'm going to argue that it's not Pay to win, however it is pay to speed up accruing of aircraft. That said, I'll advise to resist. With every new airplane you earn, you'll be offered an upgrade for 8 levels for $10. I've used this, hell I've been playing World of Warships and was used to buying premium ships, but in this game these are tech tree airplanes, and there is no reason to pay to level them, unless you want to. These is a "season" that runs with free stuff, but if you pay $10, you'll get more stuff to help you upgrade your airplanes if you desire to advance faster. I will pay the $10 which benefits you for about a month, which would be a reasonable subscription.
  • Each level just gives you slightly stronger weapons. When you get to Level 8, you unlock the aircrafts's special ability, which gives it an advantage, but everyone can get this via grinding. Everytime you upgrade an airplane, you level your hanger, which unlocks more aircraft to fly. However to unlock airplanes, you need "unlock" points which are earned, I forget what they are called in the game. Will add this later...
  • To upgrade an airplane, you need to earn crates, which includes aircraft parts, and gain experience which can be applied to airplanes for the purpose of upgrading them. Follow the level strategy, save you assets, you can upgrade your aircraft to Level 3 and then hold until you can upgrade them to Level 8.
  • Note there is a difference between Aircraft Level and Aircraft Mastery. As you fly in a specific aircraft, you'll gain experience (mastery). As you level an aircraft, (by selecting "level aircraft, aircraft parts and points are required) you'll be facing higher level aircraft. Follow the strategy in this post. As you can imagine it would be unwise to buy a package and level your airplane to a high level, wthout getting the experience you desire, before facing higher level opponents.
Tips
  • Use an X-Box Controller This game is on iOS and you can play it using screens swipes. Short story, You’ll never be competitive with swiping the screen as this game is on PC and as far as I know, you are playing against good keyboard/mouse or controller players.
  • How Match Making Works-
    • Keep your aircraft at these Levels: 3,8,11,20. Upgrade them when you can make it to the next threshold.
  • Strategy
    • You'll face Aircraft 4 Levels Up an Down- trophies make a difference in which way it trends up or down.
    • Effect of Trophies-
      • Acft Level 1 can be up to L4 aircraft in match.
      • 1-1200 trophies is the middle range. When you get up to 900-1000 you’ll be pulling higher aircraft 4 up.
      • Low trophies tends to pull Lower aircraft
      • To upgrade your hanger, upgrade the aircraft. A strategy is to upgrade the aircraft you don’t play, cause you don’t like them. In this way you won’t worry about bad match making, but you can upgrade your hanger. I don’t really follow this.
    • L4- face aircraft L1 to L8.
    • Level to L3, and hold there until you have the parts to get to L8.

    • L8- face L4 to L8
    • L8-11 is ok! L12 is a bad level up to L16
    • Hold at L11 until you can go L20!
  • Missile Inbound- You can tell a missile’s distance by how fast the warning beeps are going and how squished the missile arrow is. A red tail IR, a yellow tail is radar. Flares don’t work on a radar guided missile.
  • Note Repair and Resupply points.
  • Optimal Maneuver Speed- Stay at this unless you need to close.
  • Speed is Life- Kinda. Fuel is life. Look at the stats on your aircraft, durability, speed, agility.
    • In this game it’s the equivalent of afterburner fuel. Ok not all acft have afterburner, but it equates to the ability to accelerate. Focs on how to manage this. When your turning, you want to have a fuel supply ready, not running on empty.
    • A-6, A4, A-10 Control Point Control (Superiority)- Not say other acft can’t do well playing Superiority, but this is the realm these aircraft are best.
  • As a rule- attack from behind. Headon opens yourself up to being counter attacked.
    • While games of chicken are viable at long range with heavier aircraft like Interceptors and Heavy Fighters, they are still very risky if you pick the wrong target (ie anything with Radar-Guided Missiles)
Rules to Fly By:
  • Avoid the other half of the map in the direction of where the other team spawns by yourself, at least realize if your too far out there, you’ll be swarmed.
  • When equipped with long rang missiles, getting high to spot early can be an advantage when range is on your side, but often its not if up against other long range missile equipped aircraft.
  • A viable option is not to rush into battle, but allow the other team to show themselves first. Hell watch your own team rush into battle and you be ready to react when you see the lay of the land.
  • Rushing at the enemy straight on is not usually a good thing to do, with multiple missile equipped aircraft (basically all of them) targeting you, usually it’s better to try to offset.
  • Use the terrain to your advantage for cover, especially when facing multiple aircraft targeting you with missiles. Always fly with awareness of the terrain for cover and how you will basically break or dive to break missile locks.
  • If entering an open map like Control and you have multiple missiles targeting you, this is especially the case where you want to use the tube structure, hugging it, flying under and through to break missile locks.
  • Old Aircraft Note: In any older Acft with shorter range missiles, going against advance aircraft you have to be sneaky, be in back or low and just swoop in from the side when you team is dominating. You know your messing up when multiple acft have you lit with missiles.

  • F16 (135), J10 (324), Mig29 (223), The MiG29 requires more of an ambush methodology. It’s gun is effective. It has the worst turning performance and runs out of gas relatively quickly making good at early levels, when you can first get it, but not so good as compared to the other 2. F16- is a killer dogfighter, while the J10 does not turn quite as well, it’s phantom missile SA gives it an edge for your team in combat.
  • J35 Draken (233) & J10 Firebird (324)- Similiar feel, both have same missile config, 2 med range, 4 Heat Missiles, but the J10 has better maneuvering, durability, and seems to have better gas replenishment.
  • Dogfighting
    • Do not try to turn with an A4 Skyhawk (425) unless you are in another 5 agality acft F5 Tiger (125) or F16 Falcon (135).
    • F-106 Delta Dart MF (343)- 4R fast shooting missiles- nuke missile. Has lots of gas, holds it own turning except for F5, MiG21, F16, J10. This must have been buffed because I read a lot of bad things about this airplane but at L12 it’s the fastest aircraft I have.
