1080p medium 25-45 fps on MBA 8 GB RAM. Hairworks and Tessellation seem to be missing from the Mac version? Or maybe they are autosettings when you choose High or Ultra? The thumbnail is misleading. It says "Metro Exodus Enhanced" but this is not the Enhanced version. The Enhanced verison is not even out for PC.

Not bad for the beginning of the game, I think the folks at Digital Foundary say the later levels are more resource intensive so it would be interesting to see performance there.

Listen I finished this game on a gaming PC, equipped with a 3700X 8-core processor and a 1080TI card in ultra settings I barely reached 80-90 FPS 1080P resolution.
You have no idea the RX560 card can reach 27 FPS in ultra settings, no more, so you expect to play stable 30-60 FPS on a Mac with an M1 processor.
You are likely to be disappointed.
In the context of what you wrote about Apple's processor with 128 cores I will not comment at all,
You compare Apple to a company like NVIDIA especially to a monstrous card like 3090.
I expect nothing. He's playing with 25-45 fps, 30-35 avg on 1080p medium. I'm just stating the fact and don't expect to get 30-60 on ultra. He's also screen recording with Quicktime with 5-10 frames drop.

I was just reacting to your opinion about "the hype" and that Apple GPUs can't replace deicated GPUs in the future. Yes, I compared Apple to Nvidia based on reasonable facts? What's your point? I said Apple is rumored to work on GPUs with up to 128 cores. Nothing says it's impossible and if so it would be faster than 3090 in TFLOPS. Nothing strange about that. It's simple math since GPUs can scale up like that using parallel computing. What reasons do you have for doubting that? It seems that you're basing your opinion on the past rather than the future.

Free $10 coupon on Epic until June 17 for games costing $14.99 or more. For example Metro Exodus Gold Edition (including DLCs and expansion pass) is on sale and with coupon only $12. Standard Edition only ca $6.

Is it better to buy it on Steam or Epic? Any differences or is the performance the same? Does Epic has a framerate counter like Steam overlay?

Steam, No same game/performance, No.

Also noting that with the release of the Enhanced Edition for consoles 4A has admitted that their new (updated?) engine is going to be used in their project. Sure hope someone figures out how to get the API calls working on a Mac.
