i don't see this happening. there would be a lot of angry customers if this was true
To those who are saying they will be furious that others are getting a better iPhone 4 than their one with the antenna issue, I ask, why didn't you return it? Products get updates all the time. Remember the original iPod photo? It was like $500 and then only a few months later it was reduced to around $380 or something. You can never win when buying technology, because as soon as you buy, something better will come out very soon, and if you wait, you'll never end up buying anything.
It was even worse with the 1st generation of iPhone. Apple doubled the storage capacity from 4 to 8 GB
People are using iPhone 4 with great satisfaction, whatever you whiners are saying in this and other forums. That's what really count for their money ...Good for Apple in finally fixing the problem (if the fix is true). No reason for early adopters to get mad because from day one everyone and their brother was talking about this issue; the fanboys wanted to pretend that nothing was wrong and turned a blind eye to the problem. I voted by not buying into a faulty design. Apple gave people 30 days to return the phone and also provided free bumpers. A permanent fix was not going to happen over night. Won't shed one tear for the people wanting a replacement. Next time vote with your dollar and show apple that people cannot be easily fooled.
It was even worse with the 1st generation of iPhone. Apple doubled the storage capacity from 4 to 8 GB after three months, and reduced the price from 599 to 399 USD. A lot of people who had been camping in line outside the store to buy their soon-to-be-outdated devices got furious at Apple and declared that they would never buy anything from Apple again. Talk about having buyer's remorse. Makes me wonder why they bought those iPhones in the first place.
I hope Apple will do the same with the iPhone 4. That is, double the capacity to 64 GB and reduce the price with 33 %![]()
Isn't Germany part of the EU?
Wouldn't they have had decent comsummer protection in place well before that?
When Jobs said Not happy Return it. It wasn't a specific Apple policy for this event .He was encouraging people to live up to their side of the deal as consumers and take advantage of laws that are seasonably common world wide. The rights of Consumers to vote with their feet. Get a dud and in any complex machine like a phone, computer or car there will be a few take it back decide if you risk another one, change model or get a refund.
Not that it really needs specific law even basic contract law requires then to live up to their side of the deal if they expect you to live up to your side.
Good point. That means there was even less reason to whine about it.They didn't. Actually they cancelled the 4 Gb models and reduced the price of the 8 Gb![]()
I do hope this is true, and I think it will be, otherwise why was this September 30th deadline put on the free case program?
I think they're more likely to just put the bumper in the box, than change the design.
I don't know about all that! Like I always say "I'll believe it when I see it."
I have been waiting since last year to get the 4th generation iPhone because I still have the 1st gen iPhone. I waited a few weeks after its release only to find out that some people complain that the 4th gen is possibly defected. Seeing as how I don't want to buy a defective product I've assumed, like many of you, that Apple is going to put out a revised iPhone 4. Once the bumper program expires they are still left with a "faulty" product until next summer. That wouldn't seem to make good sense for any business. Also, the fact that the white iPhone keeps getting pushed back seems to tell me that Apple may have a revised iPhone up there sleeve for this fall. I can only hope so. If not, I guess I'll wait until the 5th gen iPhone....
