I'm going to hold out until the musical with lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda is released.
Only if there are subtitles so I can try to read along to the un-singable, fast staccato lyrics. Mary Poppins 2 was a mess! They play the songs on the kids station and my kids tune it out, as it's just 30-50% too fast for their little brains, especially with all the overdone "appropriated accents" they threw on top.

Apple TV is turning into a pretty decent value. Started watching Severance this weekend and it's kind of a trippy show that looks to be going in some interesting directions. Has good art direction too.
Severance is excellent! I can’t wait for the next episode. And there’s a lot of good content on Apple TV+ now.

Michael Douglas, Benjamin Franklin and Apple TV. That entire headline is stuffed full of yawn inducing boringness.
"At age 70, without any diplomatic training, Franklin convinced France - an absolute monarchy - to underwrite America's experiment in democracy." Yep, sounds like a snoozefest ?

Apple needs to scrap all this TV+ garbage and go back to being a computer company.
Why not appeal to those who want only computer related devices and services as well as those who are more geared towards entertainment? If there was only one group working both sides of the company coin, your post would have some merit. However, that isn' the case and Apple is more than capable of multitasking.

Michael Douglas is a great actor with memorable characters like Dan Gallagher, Gordon Gekko, and Nick Curran. Now he's old, he even starts to resemble Benjamin Franklin a little. I'll give this a watch.
Don't confuse great rolls for great acting. If you think Micheal Douglas was good at playing a San Francisco cop then nothing I can say will help.

Then don't say it. If you can help it, that is. ;)

Hollywood sure loves to get actors who look nothing like the people they are portraying. I'm getting Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs flashbacks.

Really excited for this. I hope it’s anywhere near as good as HBO’s John Adams, which is one of the best miniseries ever, imo.

Was this written by a professional diplomat? That’s is a hilarious statement. 99.9% of the most import’s negotiations in history are by people “without any diplomatic training”. Historically the pros usually screw it up.

Agree x 2.
1. AppleTV has made significant progress in a relatively short amount of time. Does it have the library of (say) a Netflix? Nope. To be fair, library size is overrated. I find Netflix's library ~90-95% unwatchable. Same with HBO Max, Disney+, etc. No one streamer is the end all, be all. AppleTV it part of a multi-pronged streaming arsenal and strategy that effectively scratches my streaming itch.
2. Severance is refreshingly interesting and very well done. Fantastic cinematography, writing, acting, directing.
You’ve got to be joking re severance. Just because some of the shots are the over-used aerial top down overhead view of a room or general scene, does not make fantastic cinematography. I would say lazy if anything. It’s dull and confusing.

I'd wager 90% of Americans have no idea the French were even involved in the Revolution, thank Zeus for anything that educates people even slightly.
Pre-2020 I'd agree with you. But since Hamilton hit Disney+ I think that number must be way lower. Down to at least 85%.

With Glenn Close playing Ben's estranged wife Deborah Read Franklin.
Not really, but why not make it more interesting.

I not ready for seeing old Michael Douglass hitting up the French whores.

That all depends on how historically accurate it is. Ben Franklin V Zeus.

On a more serious note. I might watch this. Depending on the reviews. I like historical dramas.
