You still need an iPhone to use this
Fair point, but that's one less mac they can sell too...I know for me, messages on my mac, ipad, etc. is a killer feature that is part of the (many reasons) I'm held onto the Apple ecoystem across devices.

This is awesome - oh, wait my office PC has no blutooth ... (HP, thank you!)

Given the number of security issues (last patch Tuesday, 37 critical fixes) I would think very hard to pair/share my personal data/phone with Windows.

All my Mac desktops have Blutooth built in, as far as I can remember: 2008 MacPro, 2014 MacPro, 2022 MacStudio. None of the HP desktops at work have it. But there are Games, and traffic alerts (very useful for someone who does not drive to work!); essential for a business computer - a wireless headset in an open-space office is not.

I’m glad that Microsoft is going to add this to Windows

I have a Dell laptop and Dell also has an app to link your iPhone to your Dell laptop:

Dell’s app works surprisingly well and offers some features that I wish that Apple would offer themselves. For instance, most of my notifications are strictly on my iPhone and currently there isn’t a way to get those notifications (that I’m aware of) delivered to my Mac but Dell Mobile Connect delivers all of my notifications that I get on my iPhone directly to my Dell laptop and it’s such an awesome feature that I wish that Apple would add a feature like that to MacOS

It’s even better with a Samsung phone. With my S21, I can literally mirror my phone to my Windows laptop, and interact with it. I literally don’t need to look at my phone as I can operate it right on my Windows desktop. And I can transfer files back and forth as well. The catch is as far as I know, it’s only for Samsung upper midrange to flagship models only. But imagine if Apple had the same feature, for user to be able to simply mirror the actual iPhone screen and just operate it right on the Mac desktop.

Yeah that would be awesome

I can mirror my iPhone to my M1 iMac via AirPlay but it would be amazing if I could do all of what you can now do with a Samsung phone via Dell Mobile Connect, with my iPhone on my iMac

I’ve stared using this new feature today and I’m impressed. It’s great being able to type a message on Win without having to pick up my iPhone
