Good browser. Be nice to have some Edge features in Safari
I want to use safari but the lack of windows support means it can’t be a primary browser on any platform since it can’t sync them all.Genuine question, why would anyone want Microsoft Edge on their Mac other than for testing purposes?
I agree that there’s still a need for variety of browsers. We don’t need another IE6, and Chrome is becoming one.Sure, but it's still a Chromium-based browser.
We need more browsers that aren't Chromium-based which is why I'm sticking with Firefox.
Done it for 35 years, since system 7 and Win 3.1 not too bad but was much harder back in the day. There are some apps that are just better on one particular OS than the other so I use both OS's on my desk.
Surprisingly it's quite a good browser, a better option than chrome, better sync with those many who have a PC. On a Mac Safari is popular but I believe 50-55% so plenty of people not using it.
Almost never pops up in the "apps using significant energy" section, plus better privacy options than Chrome.
As Safari is not an option for those of us who use multiple platforms and want sync enabled, Edge is actually a quite good choice right now.
I use it because I also have a Windows machine, and I find the bookmark syncing to work really well across both.
I use it because I like to have a completely separate browser for work accounts.
I used to use Chrome, but it ran like garbage and I don’t trust Google at all. I also don’t like Firefox (even though it was my browser of choice at one time).
Thanks all, I'm a Safari user and sometimes use Chrome if Safari gives me difficulties for whatever reason. I might try Edge as I know Chrome is a resource hog.Because Edge runs on all platforms and not everything I own is from Apple. Besides, it's a truly excellent browser.
This is something I really wish they’d add to Safari. Heck, I’d like a per-tab button on the browser’s toolbar, to suspend that tab. And a preference setting for whether tabs started in the background start suspended. i frequently have a lot of tabs open that I want to keep open for context (research for various projects and such), that I absolutely do not want sucking up processor cycles. Safari would be much more efficient with such a feature. The "Sleeping tabs" feature aims to improve performance by releasing system resources for inactive or backgrounded tabs. The feature is optional and can be enabled in the browser settings menu.
Sure, but it's still a Chromium-based browser.

Interestingly is that almost every comment here are from people who used/use/never used Chrome, and want to sync bookmarks and any other web stuff between their macOS and Windows and Android…
I will never try another browser, one is enough for me, thanks M$ but no. Where is the old M$ that would be developing a web browser and not picking an engine from others? Oh, wait, it is M$!
I only need one, the one that is always synced with my mobile devices and other computers, everywhere I go.
I've heard Edge is best for streaming Netflix or Amazon prime. I am a bit weary of installing a Microsoft browser on my Mac although I do use Office 365.
My first Mac was a Power Macintosh 6100/60 which had a Power PC 601 processor as well as a 486DX2 processor card which allowed you to boot into either Mac system 7 or Win 3.1. It was extremely cool back in the day. Now I just use a HP workstation and a few Mini's.Completely agree. My every-day iMac Pro fires up a Parallels Windows 10 m/c as soon as I login just to run Windows Office & a couple of work apps. Running in coherence it's fantastically useful. Windows 10 just blends into the background and I just have a version of Office I prefer, access to Visio & Project, and some work-specific stuff too.
