Same with apple. Same with pretty much every company. At the end of the day they are there to take our money.

yea but apple being the little man, works very hard to gain popularity and creates a quality product as a result.

im now on openoffice 3.0, i downloaded the updates for MS office 2004 and they broke it!!! seems the newer the software from MS, the crappier it is.

OpenOffice is surprisingly similar to MS Office so its easy to operate so far. I like how its all one app as-well

I feel like just renaming Pages, Keynote, and Numbers in my Applications folder to be called Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. To me, those are future versions of Microsoft Office.

I don't miss Outlook at all.

Open Office is very, very good for a free app, I'll never pay for MS Office again

my office install is fine, stable and fast - dunno what your deal is, go figure it out yourself.

Something isn't right with your install. I don't have this problem and I work with huge documents in word... Although I have to say that I don't use Word much anymore . Not because it's a bad program, but because a) not only is it incompatible with Spaces, it totally buggers up Spaces and b) I've been working with images lately and Word is crap with images and c) Full screen on Pages 09 is the rockin'est feature on the planet. Open office has a decent full screen mode, as does Mellel, but the black background is killer!

Edit: in fairness, the problem with Spaces and Word is actually an Apple problem. MS claims that the problem has something to do with Leopard code... why it is only this one program though is suspicious.
