I've seen no problems like that. Are you having the trouble even if you restart and avoid launching Office applications, or does it happen only when you use one of the Office apps?

It happened if any or no apps were open. I think it is fixed now. All I did was run disk verify and repair permissions and appears to be well. Go figure. Thank you for the reply.

Can't install it

I can't install this update at all on my late-2008 MacBook pro running snow leopard. The installer program shows my hard drive with a yellow triangle indicating the update can't be installed on that drive. No other problems with the system. Restarting does not resolve the problem. Good one Microsoft!

I ran into this for the previous update.

Turns out that I had 12.1.x installed and was trying to run the 12.2.0 to 12.2.2 updater. If you are still on 12.1.x you'll have to apply Service Pack 2 (to get to 12.2.0) first, before you'll be able to run the 12.2.3 update.

But, yes, it would be nice if it would tell you that -- instead of just the yellow triangle.

Thanks, I will have to give this a try. I thought I was fully updated, but maybe not. Still, what an annoying UX.

I had the same problem on my MacBook, but not my mini. It was because of a 2004 office settings file in the preferences folder. Google it and you should find all the info you need to fix it.

It can't be to do with Office 2004, because I had the exact same issue (which I started a thread about a while ago) and I have only ever had Office 2008. Hopefully it is fixed as it was frustrating (the document always saved fine and closed fine, except word itself closing would crash for an unknown reason).
So the same problem as the other person had.
