Would is this the nature of hating Microsoft in macrumor.com like sites?

I don't want to emerge brand loyalty. What I only choose is the platform providing me the maximum value.

Here is a very simple example, and I bet those love "lovelive" would know what does this mean.

When "僕たちはひとつの光" was available Japan wide, iTunes store immediately had the iTunes version of this album, and I could purchase this song with zero effort.

If I was in Windows store, it was likely that this song would never be published in Windows music store even after months.

So, I choose iOS platform rather than windows platform, since it can bring me maximum benefits. That is all.

On my BlackBerry Passport I have access to BlackBerry World, Amazon App Store, and Google Play. I believe I have access to more apps than anyone on iOS, Android, or Windows. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

So happy? ;)

Sorry M$, too little too late.

They had the market 10 years ago, but now, playing catch up....
I am a 1980's to present Apple loyal customer. However, Apple needs to worry Big Time. Apple is making so many blunders with their software, I have been slowly replacing Apple apps with other like apps. If Apple keeps repeating sotware blunders I will be in a position to move to another OS and or Mobile OS. Not necessarily Microsoft, but others are more then challenging Apple on all fronts. Apple is like Microsoft 10 years ago, Arrogant! Watch out Apple the rise is long and hard but the fall is quick, as Microsoft knows all too well.

Good news for consumers, More competition is better and It could turn into something amazing for Windows 10.

Especially The fact you can access all the apps on desktop.

Bad news fo pathetic fanboys who will cry into their pillows.

Did I just hear a Mac user complain about the closed Windows ecosystem? I cannot even load iCloud.com on Chrome for Android. Glad I don't have any documents in the Pages format anymore.

Last I checked you can get Microsoft Word on every major platform - including Android and iOS. Apple is the king of closed ecosystems. I still cannot get the full functionality of my phone number after switching away from iPhone (iMessage).

Apple has become 1990s Microsoft. Tasteless, Tacky (Gold everything! Gaudy Beats headphones!), and terribly buggy software.

Can't agree more. See those apple music issue? See those crap iTunes design? See how iPhone 6 Plus designs the power button and volume switch. This is simply a knock off iPhone 5c frame with power button moved to another place, plus some other minor changes.

I may still stick iOS ecosystem because this platform brings me the maximum value. But I will not easily give up windows platform for the same reason.

The article mentions this is "clearly a work in progress" so I am sure they will account for other languages in due time...

When they finish ObjC? When nobody develops for ObjC anymore...

The spell checker in iWork is nothing more than appalling

Look, i found Steve Ballmer.

Source for this BS?

The spell checker in iWork is the same as in all OS X applications. It's system wide, and one word you told it to learn in Safari, applies to Pages, and applies to OmniGraffle third party software.

This can only be a good thing. MS are upping their game. I've been running Windows 10 as a work terminal on parallels for a project for a week now and its superb... I still like my OSX more but its a damn fine OS. MS allowing Devs to port Apps with greater ease can only benefit us end users :)

The only developer I know using Swift is my project manager
It's good to have a PM who knows how to code.
Speaking of Swift, it is being used for new projects by at least one big digital agency I know about.

I seriously doubt that Blackberry has 130,000 apps.

Also, 1.5m apps for iOS. This reminds me of an old Apple ad back in '98 where the ad stated that its not the number of software available for the OS, its the quality (in comparison to the amount of software availbile for Windows)

Why would you want to use an app designed for phone on your desktop? Apps for iOS/Android/etc are generally much less capable than their desktop counterparts.

The whole concept that Microsoft is trying to push with W10 just seems intrinsically flawed to me.

This is a great move by Microsoft. I'm weirdly intertwined in Microsoft and apple. I have an expensive gaming pc, and even more expensive (Haha) Macbook Pro, and iPhone and an xbox. Until now I had to unfortunately deal with Microsoft. Since the release of windows 10 and the steam xbox is gaining I fully enjoy using their products now.

Why would you want to use an app designed for a phone on your iPad ?
Because it can include ressources and the design for both.

(Good) responsive websites are usually showing less feaures on mobile, yet it's the same code behind. Same here.
