Myself and my partner have decided not to have children until multiple logins become a feature on iOS.
Multiple accounts. The winning feature for me. iOS should have had support for them ages ago. (And on screen multitasking).
Wow if I ever want hands free cooking, the main defining feature of a tablet, I'll be sure to consider the surface.
These guys just don't get it.
Says someone with no kids!!
Aren't the car analogies getting a little old by now? They never made much sense before, and they don't make sense now. All they do is scratch that "I like to own nice German luxury cars" itch because some people think it makes them look cooler while they swirl their snifter of grape juice in front of the TV with the fake fireplace DVD on loop.
Let me tell you right now. There's no such thing as a BMW tablet. They're all Hondas. Every single last one. You can convince yourself you're buying a Benz, but you're buying a Honda. Apple tablets are expensive Hondas, MS tablets are midline-expensive, and lower end Android tablets are Civics.

But yet the recent patent filing MR reported on mentioned user accounts tied to fingerprint sensor.![]()
WRONG.
Given the limited storage (16GB) do you really want to have 2 lots of iTunes music , what about Apps, different users, different iTunes accounts. Who is allowed to use what App, will they have to be duplicated ?
Do you then allow "admin" accounts, but what extra functionality will that give/remove. Does it give you access to remove someone else's music so you can add/delete, if so what other data ( e.g. iWork documents) do you then get access to, be able to delete without their knowledge. What about reminders, alarms, calendars, email, iCloud ? What happens when its password locked ?
Its not as easy as "just add another account", there are a whole pile of considerations that must also be taken into account to make the device still useable and keeping security high
stop spending money on these ads, and use it to make a product worth competing with Apple's products
I agree multiple accounts is a great feature. The Surface seems to take the desktop OS (Win/OSX) philosophy, where was iOS has taken the phone OS philosophy.Multiple accounts. The winning feature for me. iOS should have had support for them ages ago. (And on screen multitasking).
Multi-account definitely is a big deal that Apple should really consider. I think they'd rather sell an iPad to every family member unfortunately.
Big deal. They're trying to sell some stuff. It's just like Apple and others try to do. No big thang, hardly worth a comment.
Have you ever played with a surface pro 2? The build quality and materials are top notch, definitely nothing to scoff at. The full desktop OS is just that and has yet to be duplicated by any other tablet with this level of refinement.
I think it's different, kids (we) often share a tv, game console and Sometimes a desktop, but mobile devices are often considered personal. I don't remember sharing a GameBoy, PSP or iPod...
And yet here you are, making a comment.
I do have to agree. It was cheap or maybe just greedy on Apple's part not to offer expendable storage. A micro SD slot would have been easy to add to the iPad and then a user could pop in a 32GB card if more storage were needed.
